+xHe has to be up there right? He has won premierships in Italy, Spain, England, Germany & France, only manager to win all top 5 footballing nations. 4 champions league titles, with a big chance for a 5th. (not forgetting won 2 as a player). Just looking at those honours, you would have to say he is right up there.

True for Football and F1 - If it doesn't happen to an Englishman/team, then it didn't happen

seems to be the best man manager in the world. His stint at Bayern when he had Ribery, Robben, Muller was a big lesson for him from interviews I have read... he seems to be able to stroke the ego's of some of these bigger players... part of that this is setting his teams up to get the best out of them rather than just having a set philosophy or style.
Definitely the most successful.
Kind of worries me about Ange... the players could turn on his style if they dont get results.

MCG robbos summed it up earlier, we're influenced here by the UK press re football more than any other league since I was a kid. Back then you never heard a report from any of the other 4 big leagues but English league. You hardly hear a whisper about SerieA/Bundas/Liga winners let alone a gaffa. Therefore not surpised its all known about whiskey nose Fergi and Pep during his EPL tenure. Got to say Don Carlo is a Legend ! many Italians are :) lol....... You look at the CL played/win ratio Pep is right up his clacker mind you. ADP rated him best way back in 2014. Comparing both all comes down to preference to some, hard to split them though for they both have done so well as players and gaffas in varied leagues.

I still rate Sacchi higher, despite only having success in Italy ..... that late 80s Milan team ..... holy shit that was pure joy (he had the cattle though) and I'm not and never was a Milanista either.

you said it, he had some almighty players, some of the best of the time. He changed the Italian game those days from epic defense to the press - go figure all that time ago.
