On Yengi, so happy he's gone up. He was important for Portsmouth. I think his playing qualities and his performances suggest he can make the step up. It's just massive news for the NT if he can perform in the Championship.

Absolutely. It fills me with pride showing how much they deserve it because they outright earned it via promotion. Another mooj moment.

Aussie drools fans refer to it as "the guts"

They refer to it as the spine. Full back, centre half back, ruck, rover, centre half forward, full forward. Basically your tall players plus best midfielder. It's an AFL term.

I guess the equivalent in football would be GK, CB, CM, CF. Basically your best players through the middle of the field.

What? League is played laterally. There is no spine. They've pinched that from us.

Sweeper, CB, CM, Striker. There's your spine. Bottom to top. As in the spine in your back.

I've seen it mentioned with keeper and then the centre in each part just to describe how solid each player is for their team in the respective role. Not the most common phrase however.

So gk, ball playing cb, defensive mid, central attacking mid and striker?

Rugby league has a spine - fb, 5/8, hb and hooker, what would be the equivalent of a spine in football?

Excited at the prospect and plenty of football to be played. In a perfect world they forked out for Robertson and loaned in Gauci and Souttar :D It'd essentially be the national team spine.
