What a job chief has done. Came up through the ranks of the state leagues in NSW waited and waited for his opportunity and has take it with both hands. Sure, they've never won any silverware, but I put them more of an upper middle club. They have made finals in 50% of their seasons. The coach is obviously green, but is clearly smart enough to not force his players to bite off more than they can chew. Focus on getting the result rather than being flashy and entertaining.

More experienced coach possibly but not when it comes to wonderful world of the A League .

Like you said, wouldn't mind them making the GF, as long as they don't win it. Definitely want the Mariners to win the premier's plate tomorrow night as well.

I think any club which a large proportion of fans is convinced doesn't belong in the league and should be expelled qualifies as underdogs

Mariners another title with maybe two more to come....
Interesting for the smallest club in the league 300K population, working class, beach area.... smallest budget.... but we have what few other clubs have... and all build by the local community...
At match days, the cannon, and kids mascot.... the stadium is called """My Paradise""", club slogan """Never Back Down""" and club chant ""' Nobody Rates Us, We don't Care""' , after match photo of fans, players, and coaching staff after each home game, and a long chat between players, coaches and fans...
Also, club is honest with what and who we are... a development club as we need to develop and sell players to keep afloat... meaning many of Australia's best youth come to the Mariners as they know they will get both game time and overseas clubs now look at our players...
