Still a confusing Scotland performance. Decent result. Could've gone either way. Interesting to note Switzerland faded like against Hungary.

Scotland need a back 4 with a flat 3 midfield then a 10 and 2 up top. They've got to force players to run to create things. The positioning now sees everyone rooted in their area with very little trust to leave it. A little guy up top is smothered. McGinn was so anonymous again. 

They Croatia have had a great ride with this generation. world cup final & semi finals, amazing, but it appears to be coming to an end.

So many goals scored through the legs. 

Not just the technical and physical aspects of the game, but having stadiums full of passionate fans lifts the game immensely.

This is why it's the premier football tournament.

That's my feeling too. They played too slow at times except for their goal. Let Akanji do his thing. Nervy back passes didn't help. 

They still have great players. It's amazing watching their technical ability under pressure compared to our mob. 
But yes, they could be at a rebuilding phase

agreed on both posts, watching hurts for despite their obvious ability due to a big bus albanians parked many of the Cros were either flat footed and then over cooked/did things many times in frustration........
The skill is all there but for eg, upon regaining possesion in their final third they are too slow for my liking whilst the albanians had pressed up finally leaving holes.
They hardly took that opportunity with pace.
Luka, (now I know he hasn't played many 80/90min at RM) his game reading is for all to see but, not many killer pass's behind enemy lines, he's the roving 6 play and the lack of creativity was showing for me.
Kovacic needs to step up alot more.
This next game is gonna hurt me either way may the best blood on the day win.

I love watching him play though, was lucky enough to see him play in Croatia before he moved abroad. Utter champion of the game 

Plenty to play for in that group, Germany has already qualified so it will be interesting to see how they approach Switzerland who only need a draw to finish top 2.

Scotland vs Switzerland was a funny match, Scotland scored early and then Switzerland scored a banger thanks to Shaqiri after that they took control of the game but couldn't get the 2nd goal then Scotland got close to scoring from the set piece at the end.

Plenty to play for as I mentioned, Hungary after losing still have a chance to go through on best 3rd place team, Scotland as well so that will be an intriguing game.

Also how good was Scotland's anthem before the game, their fans are something else! 

Croatia's defence has really let them down this tournament, if Albania had executed better they could have scored more in the first half I do agree they got genuine quality especially in midfield but if they dont fix their defence they got little hope in going far in this tournament. 

They came to life in the second half and were all over Albania and then it all blew up in their faces in ET.

How comical was Hungary's defending for Germany's 2nd goal?
 
The captain literally jogged from the corner of the D to near the penalty spot and put it in the net. Not a player within 3 metres of him. Just ridiculous at this level.




Also, Shaqiri's goal. Corker.

I think per capita the Croats has the best technical ability in the world. There is no comparison to our lot.

Modric, funny to say, is so underrated, if he was Spanish, English or French, they would be talking him up far more. His technical ability is supreme.

Anyone interested in how refs ref at this level pay close attention to how much physical stuff is let go. The rules seems to be if you can't hold a player off or stand your ground, bad luck.

Sat in seminars for years where they go high foot, IDFK. High foot and contact RC. Again I don't care if that's what they've decided but they're definitely playing by a different set of rules at this level.

I agree and I hate the backing into a marker and then just sitting on the floor to get a free. More physical natural movement needs to be permitted.
