I wonder if this is step one in taking over the A-League broadcast rights from Paramount. 

I already ditched paramount after the last Socceroos game. I won’t get Optus for the cup but get the aleague im in. As it should’ve been we’ve all been calling for it. EPL and aleague. Year round content you keep subscribers. 

Winners and losers as always when rights migrate. Have Optus increased prices? Paramount is thankfully so cheap. I see many comments saying Optus is fair. Stan is an annoyance. 

German sky lost Wimbledon and a lot more and don't budge on price. Dazn went from being a cheap steaming company to expensive pundits and both are running at a massive loss. German sky retained EPL but then used that to jack up the price again which only replaced what they'd lost. 

What I dislike is when companies add a cup then raise prices like it's a grand event. They're clever at holding people to ransom. 

Always wondered if Optus would one day go all in on Football... i.e. Champions league, EPL, FA Cup, A-League and then on sell key games to a FTA .... 

Lot depends on the broadcast part as I understand it... if they can just buy the product rather than produce the product....

I was flicking TV channels last night and saw an add on one of the Channel 10 ones about Paramounts "Winter of Football" with matches from European Powerhouses like "Barcelona", "Real Madrid"  and then... wait for it...... "Bournemouth" and "Wrexham" hahahahahahahaaha I pissed my pants laughing..... 

Saw that and laughed as well.

But worth mentioning, Wrexham - although down in League 1 now (after promotion from 2) is still a club high in the non-football-diehard-population's consciousness due to their ownership.

It'll be good if Paramount advertised the Australia cup
