yep its brilliant MSC - thousands of k's away through a feed you can feel the proud vibes from supporters and players. Finally all Qrtr's set. Netherlands ended Romania's run with a dominate display. Whereas Austria will feel hard done by losing 1-2 to Turkiye. More great FT rejoicing scenes by the players and fans, brilliant stuff. Here we go Spain v Germany - 2 of the usual big fellas, Germany will be hard to beat @ home, will be aggressive - hope the finese of the Spanish gets them the win. Port v France - another top clash, hope it delivers, France favourites pre tournament, starting to get a roll, Port like the English have been doing enough to get to this point, they really have to be on their game to get over the line in this one, robbos, my head says France, for the fam ties Port and hope CR7 doesn't score :) England v Switzerland - well I should sit behind the Poms tbh but a Switz win will be brilliant and great bants for so so many. Netherlands v Turkiye - expect the Turk run will end, too much of a bridge to climb Oranje win.

It's a shame that Austria is out, i like their style of play its refreshing to watch a team just press and look to play vertical passes all game but Turkey took their chances well via the set pieces so it was enough to win, that's football you got to take your chances!
Netherlands were too good but they need to work on their final third play, often the wrong pass or their decision making was wrong they should have put the game to bed sooner but Romania offered little competition in this one.
It should be an interesting quarter final match up between the two, the fan match up will be interesting as well haha.

watched the Belgium v France game again... Jeremy Doku is an absolute machine... they just give him the ball and he takes on his defender gets to the byline and gets a cross in almost every time.
This is how we should setup for Nestory...give him the ball so he can run at his defender and get to the byline and cross... he will destroy AFC defenders.

+x+x+x+xTurkiye Czechia post match celebrations were great yesterday. Turkiye fans are something else. They have a real shot against Austria. So good to see Georgia go through. Ronaldo acting like a petulant child when he got subbed off. Compare that poncey pretty boy to Modric who is all class. Yeah, they seem to be the only fans at this tournament that boo the opposition for every touch of the ball... something else indeed. Better than throwing coins at players. There's plenty of whistling in the other games too. Watched Morocco / Canada in Qatar and you couldn't hear the bloke next to you because of all the Moroccans whistling. They love that shit. I like it.t. Im surprised you do mate.. The Turkey fans are pretty much all German born (Lira is so undervalued real Turks cant even catch a bus across town these days in Turkey let alone travel) cheering for the country of their parent's birth.... Hey Muz... you never came back to me on this one??? Just wondering what your thoughts were on the links between Turkey (sorry countries dont get to chose their own English exonym just because they have imperialistic fascist ideologies) and Bahceli's holocaust and Armenia/Greek/Kurdish Genocide denying, Hamas supporting, Islamist fundamentalists? https://www.reuters.com/sports/soccer/turkeys-demiral-be-suspended-two-games-over-wolf-gesture-german-media-2024-07-04/

As for article you linked it seems he was banned for 2 matches for making a symbol linked to politics. Seems fair enough if that's the rules. What's your point? Can I not watch and enjoy Germany play even though they started 2 world wars?

Its sad that a European country can be illegally occupied militarly by a so called Eurpean country and that so called country is still allowed to compete in European football and the Olympics.... Oh well now they have officially signed on with the BRICS block maybe the rest of Europe will change their minds?

+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+xTurkiye Czechia post match celebrations were great yesterday. Just wondering what your thoughts were on the links between Turkey (sorry countries dont get to chose their own English exonym just because they have imperialistic fascist ideologies) and Bahceli's holocaust and Armenia/Greek/Kurdish Genocide denying, Hamas supporting, Islamist fundamentalists? https://www.reuters.com/sports/soccer/turkeys-demiral-be-suspended-two-games-over-wolf-gesture-german-media-2024-07-04/ I don't have an opinion because I don't know enough about it EXCEPT your mob have a mad history with them as I found out when I went to Cyprus for a wedding once. As for article you linked it seems he was banned for 2 matches for making a symbol linked to politics. Seems fair enough if that's the rules. What's your point? Can I not watch and enjoy Germany play even though they started 2 world wars? No point.... just wanted to hear your thoughts :P Ill be cheering on the Germans tomorrow morning too BTW .. pity most of the German born Turks wont be doing the same it seems :) What am I looking at? A rather buff German citizen of Turkish ancestry displaying a neo- nazi tattoo :) I don't know what I'm looking for. I'll take your word for it. There are neo nazis in Melbourne, no doubt elsewhere. Fuckwits all of them. The wedding was in Paphos. Jesus mate, your getting soft... Im trying to start an argument here and no takers. HAHAHAAHAHAHAAHAHAAHAHAHA Haha. Busy trying to get a job out the door today. I do know there was an Armenian genocide committed by the Turks if that helps. Any wishy washy, weasily words around that not being a 'genocide' is fucking garbage.

Any wishy washy, weasily words around that not being a 'genocide' is fucking garbage. Hahaha soz, Im having a slow day and thought Id drum up some mischief :) Armenian Genocide (and the Pontic Greek and Kurdish ones) during the Great War account for roughly 1.5 million civilian deaths through death marches, rape, pogroms and murder mainly women and children.. It was the bluprint for the German final solution to the Jewish problem, as Hilter himself stated with admiration “Who, after all, speaks today of the annihilation of the Armenians?” He admired the Tursk much more then the Ustase mate.... despite Russel Crow's crappy propaganda film :) Something the Turkey of today refuses to acknowledge and actively uses it as a sort of gun-boat diplomatic tool in surrounding countries, threatening severance of ties or financial trade if they "buy into the false narrative" https://www.tc-america.org/scholar/an_Armenian_deception_who_remembers_Armenians.htmlThere is a reason why nobody wants them in EEC or Europe for that matter ...

Spain lead Germany. Some starting 11 changes and now the near best 11 on for final 30 and they're trying hard.

Spain win with a 120min winner. Disgraceful gamesmanship from Spain. They wanted nothing of it then took their chance at the end. Otherwise it was lying down, faking and throwing the ball away.
You'd think a team with that skill wouldn't resort to such garbage. Entire Germany fans and media are disgusted at the antics.

Well both played safe chances not taken. A perfect pen take by the French.

+xWell both played safe chances not taken. A perfect pen take by the French. It's a shame to go out but one of our better tournaments, football wise. The only thing that I wasn't happy with were the lack of chances we created/ the lack of goals we scored. We had so much talent on the bench and I don't think Martinez used it to our full advantage. I felt we shouldn't have started Ronaldo in the Turkiye game and instead tested someone else like Ramos or Jota. It would have meant that if Ronaldo wasn't adding anything to the team, such as the games against Switzerland and France, we could have introduced a player that would have given something else. Again, the future looks bright. I might actually get to see Portugal win a World Cup in my life time if we keep developing as many talented players as we currently have.

To contrast the quarter finals, Germany vs Spain both play good football and both went for the win and Spain prevailed.
The other, the battle of mid between Portugal vs France, both play a risk adverse style it was quite fitting it went to penalties given the lack of ambition from both.
To think France are in the semi final without scoring a single goal from open play is quite remarkable given their quality of players they have they are tough to breakdown but they don't inspire anyone with their football, meanwhile Spain are almost the opposite who play very good football but also show a toughness about them too they will miss Pedri but Dani Olmo is a decent replacement.
It will be an intriguing semi between Spain vs France.
