Hayden matthews offered a 900 k pound transfer fee by pompey which would be almost as much as the rest of pompeys transfers combined

Had minuscule hope Kuol would make the Newcastle cup bench but he's not there and the line is dead. Luongo bench and no Robertson.

442 is back, thought we hit the nuclear winter when I couldnt get on for an hour
sad to say burgess the nearest player for both goals, but the linesman saves him for one. His passing range looks crisp though

Turns out Burgess didn't score. Kicker, Germany's largest football publication, needs to do better with its notifications.

This is against a League 2 side after a great Championship season. At the same time they're going on about how good Cajuste looks, against a League 2 side. They were down 2:1 also so what's going on with their attack? Luongo now on.

Keeps getting nudged slightly before the aerial duel and its working. Hopefully they win tonight so he gets more cup games and learns from this. Typical cup game tho, hard to break down a team parking the bus

Haha cameron gets an assist nice
Luongo had a miracle save against him before
Lets hope that helps burgess confidence

Robertson was in fact on the Cardiff bench. Came on and scored against Southampton. A fine finish too apparently. Got to get him A capped 3 times asap. Put all this to rest.

Burgess wins another aerial duel in defence, wising up to those little nudges
Wonder if var would rule both goals out tonight? They were gentle nudges but in asia its a foul

https://x.com/FootballReprt/status/1828886322158690688?t=VavfmP8mhzoqfqu-IzfCjg&s=19Robertson goal. Nicely done. Leckie would sky that. Race reviews too as best in ground. Damn Southampton make it 4:3 on 91. Not to worry too much though as Cardiff have lots of EFL to come and Robertson is favoured.

They were gentle nudges but in asia its a foul In Asia the defender would be jumping arms spread and already shouting then flopping to floor holding back of head. An elbow into the back of our head will go ignored. Get ready, we're going through it all again over the next 9 months. Soeaking of Asia, Goodwin with 57min. There's been a number of tweets about AsiaRoos of late. Lowry with a trophy in Malaysia. Lachlan Jackson doing well. Brook came off bench in MLS.

+xFotmob really rating his match I cant see him playing long in the efl tbh. If his body holds up... You'll have numbers to back it up. How does lower Championship conspire to lower Eredivisie. I find Eredivisie lower 5 clubs so dire but perhaps there are technical aspects that are as good as lower Bundesliga 2. Depends on the set up I guess. Volendam were a special case. Lower Championship can be pretty rough too. QPR and Cardiff have played hoofball for years and Birmingham finally got relegated. Eredivisie still feels like a league where a few batter others but Sparta Rotterdam have improved a lot for example. When Hrustic was at Groningen it was hard to watch how stretched and frantic they were. Turnovers and passes out galore.

Wimbledon beat Ipswich on pens. Late redemption for Burgess with the assist and he scored his pen. Always good to see lower league sides chipping away at the higher leagues.

English fans get frustrated if there is a period of sideways and backwards passing to reset and probe for a bit

+xbeautiful volley from Roberston he's too good for that level. Lol, there's an absolute ton of footballers at that level better than him at the moment. The championship and English football might be many things, but it's come a hell of a long way in the last 15 years. A lot of big Championship clubs have far more money than even some of the bigger sides outside the big 4-5 leagues. They have squads to match it. Leeds as an example have sold 3 players that all would have been the most expensive signing in Serie A this offseason. Lets see him back it up consistently. In something other than an EFL cup game also for starters.
