Perth Glory veteran Jamie Harnwell believes the club's blockbuster clashes with Wolverhampton and Fulham will be an extra spur during the long pre-season to come.

Speaking on Thursday as he geared up for the Glory's first training session of the new campaign, Harnwell said he was ecstatic when the club confirmed it would be playing against the English Premiership clubs, along with Hyundai A-League new boys, the North Queensland Fury, led by Robbie Fowler.

In the west it was saying prices for the EPL games were likely to be 100 dollars standing for the 3 games.130 for seating. thats members.
then when they open to the public more like 120 standing 160 seats.
and if they dont sell then something like 50 for standing and 65 seating on the day.

Members first for EPL stars
8th May 2009, 7:45 WST

Soccer fans can expect to pay at least $100 to watch three pre-season matches featuring English Premier League clubs Fulham and Wolverhampton Wanderers at Members Equity Stadium in July.

While Perth Glory players were being put through their first training session of the new season at the ground yesterday, officials were working to finalise ticket prices for the high-profile matches, which the club hopes will kick-start renewed interest in the A-League team.

Acting chief executive Lui Giuliani said the club had been inundated with interest after confirming Glory’s matches against Wolves on July 10 and Fulham on July 15, which will be a double header also involving Wolves against North Queensland Fury, where former Liverpool striker Robbie Fowler is marquee player.

Glory members will be given priority to buy tickets, expected to go on sale in the next few weeks, featuring all three matches for about $100 (standing) and $130 for premium seating.

Unsold tickets after the members’ priority period will be offered to the public, starting at $125 and going up to $155. Children and concession tickets will be available from $40.

If the packages do not sell out, entry to the July 10 game will be $50 (standing) and up to $65 (seating), and the double header will cost about $65 to stand and $75 for a premium seat.

Giuliani said the club hoped the games would reignite the interest of former supporters.

“We want to get people used to coming back to Members Equity Stadium,” he said.

“If we put quality on the park and they enjoy the experience it will break the ice and hopefully they will come back again during the season.

“If we could get some of the old fans back, it would be a significant boost to our season.

“We know they are out there and that there are many football-loving people in this State.”

Glory’s Dutch import Victor Sikora has his eye on the clash against Fulham, who he almost joined from Vitesse Arnhem in 2002 before moving to Ajax. “I had a medical at Fulham and they said it was good but they couldn’t pay the transfer fee to Vitesse,” Sikora said.

An excellent deal - anyone who thinks that is too expensive is a fool. IMHO i think the double header is a brilliant idea and something that should become a regular event.

Maybe it's just me but the games always go too quick. 2x games solves that problem!

Christiano Ronaldo Goes for Glory?
8/5/2009

Ronaldo's agent today has confirmed the rumours that he would be looking to transfer to a club overseas this year.

"Christiano is tired of the precision tackling of the EPL. It makes his diving too obvious" said his agent at an early morning press conference. "What he needs is a league renouned for clumsy challenges, and we think that could be the A-League".

When asked which clubs he may be interested in, the agent admitted he wasn't being specific at this stage. "Ronaldo does like modern bell towers, black swans and the colour purple, so if there's a club that can fill those needs they will certainly be at an advantage".

Perth Glory manager Dave Mitchell declined to comment on the news, but provided a knowing smirk before clicking his heels together in the air.

How much are memberships usually, while the prices to see all three pre-season games are reasonable, coupled with getting a membership it might be a bit of a stretch.

I think the idea is that you can become a member this season before you buy the tickets. So you just have to convince your parents its a good idea now.

Speaking of memberships, what sort will get you a spot on the western side out of the sun?

I've seen signs at the south end of the ground for silver memberships. Is this the only place you can sit? ie. if you have a silver membership, can you reserve a seat on the eastern side?
