yer like a precup camp. the majority of the southern hemisphere is 3rd world so to have a place like perth with similar weather, a few hours ahead in time zone and world class facilities is ideal.

You've got to win the league at least once before you win it a few more times.

Thats the thing, people don't recognise that we are the most successful current a-league club. With that facility we need a government who cares about football, vote 1 Matthew Southern for premier of WA!!! :P Or just wait till Australia hosts the world cup. :-k Edited by southern3: 2/7/2009 09:26:32 PM

As a Liverpool fan I can safely tell you: No, apparently winning in the past counts little. According to United fans anyway ](*,)

According to an article in the west today, Andy Todd will ramp up his training today and Jelic will arrive this weekend (got his visa on Tuesday).
I think Mile is arriving monday, but I'm not sure about Burns.

http://www.news.com.au/perthnow/story/0,21598,25732835-5005408,00.htmlNewly arrived Glory acquisition Sterjovski feeling pressure Braden Quartermain July 04, 2009 03:24pm PERTH Glory marquee signing Mile Sterjovski arrived in WA Saturday night, saying he felt under pressure to perform. Putting his hand up to make his Glory debut in Friday night's showpiece clash with Wolverhampton Wanderers, Sterjovski said he wanted to help soccer one day become WA's No.1 sport. The Socceroo joins Matthew Pavlich, Daniel Kerr, Nathan Sharpe and now James O'Connor as one of Perth's highest paid sportsmen. His deal is believed to be worth $2 million over the next three seasons - about $25,000 a game. Sterjovski said he felt sorry for World Cup teammate John Aloisi, his highly-paid counterpart at Sydney FC, who crumbled under the burden of expectation last season. "There is pressure having that role but I've been a professional for a long time now," Sterjovski said. "I definitely have thought about (the downside to being the marquee player). But if the team is doing well there'll be less focus on myself. "Hopefully I can bring my experience with me and I'll be able to deal with that." Striker Aloisi scored two goals for Sydney last season and the one-time national hero was booed by his own fans after he missed two sitters against Glory last year. "Sydney FC weren't doing so well and they had to point at somebody and John was an easy target I guess," Sterjovski said. "John's a very good professional and he works hard. It's just unlucky that he had to go through that. But he's got a strong character and I'm sure he'll do well this season." Sterjovski appreciated his role as the marquee man gave him a unique responsibility as the face of soccer in WA. "I understand it's quite an important role, and I'm really determined to make Perth Glory a successful club," he said. "I'm looking forward to lifting the profile of the club in any way I can. I really want to make it the No.1 sport in Western Australia. "I don't know how far down the line but in the future I'm sure it will rival the AFL." The 30-year-old Derby County recruit said the A-League was improving in standard every season. "Maybe the pace of the game is a bit slower than it is in Europe but otherwise technically I think the A-League is just as good," he said. "There are some very good players in the league and as the years go on there are more quality players coming to the league."
