fuksake .... as im posting this theres pretty heavy rain out there ... and not much sign of it clearing up ... althought there was a brief patch of sunshine before!

bloody hell ... cmon rain clear up for tonight!

this is the last thing we need ... no one turning up coz of the weather ... grrr

I've had a look at numerous weather forecasts and radars for Perth, and I'm around 95% sure that it's not going to rain again today, and if it does it's likely to be at around midnight. According to the radar of the Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology, the skies are clear (in terms of rain) for around 500km in the entire South-West direction and we are experiencing SW winds this arvo and evening. Of course, it's still a prediction, but hence I wouldn't expect any more showers between now and the end of the match tonight - thank god! So, the weather shouldn't affect the crowd...

Just got back from the game, and although I was disappointed for us not to score, overall it has to be seen as a good result. Against a Premier League club, on a night that an English team would have been much more accustomed to (weather-wise), I think the Glory should be commended. Although the Glory didn't seem to turn up to the game until after the goal was scored in the first couple of minutes, and the defending for this goal was quite abysmal, I would say we probably drew even with Wolves for the rest of the game in most areas. In the first half, our attacking plays were brilliant, with not a long ball in sight. Sterj set up many of these plays with some stunning flick-ons, and our attacking was arguably the best and quickest I have seen since the NSL days. It was great to watch. Our defense was solid through the middle, with Harnwell and Todd proving more than capable for the Wolves strike force, and even J.Coyne on the left did quite well, seemingly showing a much more spirited performance without the burden of the captaincy, but Jimmy Downey struggled at right-back defensively and many of the Wolves' plays and attacks came down this flank.

At half-time, Sterj, Downey and Sikora all left the field, replaced by 17-yr old NYL player Million Buttshire, Neville and Bulloch. I have to say I thought Neville's performance was miles better at right-back, and we looked much more solid in defense as a unit in the second half, with Wolves having very few chances to score (special mention to Andy Keogh's brilliant volley from around 35 yards that forced a great save by Velaphi). However, with Sterj off, our attacking plays fizzled mostly after the first 10 mins of the second half, and we were reduced to long ball after long ball after long ball, although Bulloch provided a useful outlet for attack on the left. Although this is slightly worrying, we must remember that we didn't have arguably our two best strikers, in Sterj and Jelic, on and Sikora, who is one of the most creative players in the team, was also off.

Pellegrino performed quite well on the right when he got the ball, as per his usually consistenst self, and linked up with Downey nicely in the first half with some great overlapping runs. Dadi was useful up front with his usual lay-offs, although he had no real chance to score throughout the game. Shroj and Burns did their jobs effectively in their two-man central midfield throughout the game, with a few minor hiccups along the way that were mainly caused by the abysmal refereeing of Craig Zetter, who must be one of the worst refs I've seen. Velaphi was brilliant by the way, pulling off at least two magnificent saves - good luck to Vreteski to beat him to the number one spot after tonight's performance. Overall, a solid result for the Glory and a good platform on which to build the new season. Although a crowd of just over 11,000 is worrying, perhaps the weather played a major role in that? Wednesday night will give us that answer.

This makes it look pretty full, but Members Equity is like that. When we had 12,500 last year it didn't seem as though you could fit another 6,000 in.

Are most people who are going on Wednesday night going to arrive early for the NQ v Wolves game? I would expect a decent chunk of the crowd to be there watching that match, at least much more than were there to watch the abysmal, yet hilarious, celebrity match last night

Btw, for those who didn't attend the game last night, or arrived late, Tony Sage announced before the game that Schwarzer is guaranteed to play the full 90 mins on Wednesday night, which will be his first full run-out in Oz, as he was just taken off at half-time in the Melbourne v Fulham game. So if you haven't already planned to go to the game, make sure you do! Let's sell the game out and show Fulham which team has the best fans in Australia!

Burns is gonna be great for us, I loved Amaral but he wasnt strong enough when challenged for the ball. For all the great stuff he did he turned the ball over just as much, and Burns showed last night that he would throw himself into challenges and the like.

I seen him as really as our major signing, not just for the onfield contribution he will make but hi signing was the one that got the ball rolling. When we signed Jacob everybody stood up and took notice and he was a factor in us getting Sterj, and now Chris Coyne is coming back wow...

Now its just up to us fans to pack out MES, the boys were starting to make it a bit of a fortress last year and with the squad we have now its just winning games away wich Im sure we will win plenty this year.

Go Glory

I love the fact that now we've recruited extremely well and look like doing well for the first time since the NSL, Laza is calling the Glory "us" and "we". Mate, every Glory supporter on this forum has more of a right to call the Glory their own than you do, so jump back off the bandwagon if you could thank you very much

Ye that would be brilliant - and really, everywhere else was mostly full in the stadium. The Shed was packed, the standing seats around the shed at the northern end was packed, the eastern side was mostly packed as was the Western side - so if we can get the Southern Stand full, it would make an amazing atmosphere for Wednesday night's game, and hopefully bring many people back in the future

I'd say the atmosphere at the wolves was more like that at a 8000 people season game.
i just hope that maybe if we can get 16000 then it can be more like it was when we got 12000 on boxing day.
that atmosphere was hell intense.

yeh ... the shed was really quiet at the wolves game ..... normally i'm in the shed every game but for the EPL games im in seats ... so maybe thats why the shed is quiet coz for the EPL games regular shed people are in seats ... whoever hasnt got a ticket yet or wants to just go in the shed ... do it ... definitely needs to be louder for fulham game!

in regards to the wolves game ..... burns impressed me the most .. he was quality in midfield, got stuck in, and used the ball well .... todd impressed me also ... he was strong at the back and used the ball very well also ... may lack a bit of pace but? ... and sterjovski looked great in the first 45!

Wolves game:
1. Burns
2. Todd
3. Sterjovski
