On rereading that i see it makes no sense. by cruel i of course mean in the sense that it not a proper game and so means nothing. and an interesting test for the team meaning because we will have a near full strength team so it will be good to see how they perform as a unit. of course they arent yet all match fit and neither have they gelled, but we could easily gleamsome sort of idea as to how god like we will be.

That's a shame. With the quality of Fulham, we could have used him alongside Andy Todd. Sometimes I feel Harnwell only knows how to boot the ball up to the left hand side of where ever he is facing.
But I guess at least it gets the ball out of our box, right?

For those interested, although it shouldn't affect us die-hards, the weather is clear and sunny for the majority of tomorrow, right up until the evening, and there's a 30% chance of getting some drizzle later in the night - which means that this time, weather can't be used as an excuse not to go!

Even if that was true, there'd be no way to prove it. The MI6 should have us covered 8-[

I think it's worse for wednesday. Friday was showers, then clearing in the evening and wednesday is the opposite - fine, then evening showers. If people base their decision on what the sky looks like during the day we'll be fine, but if they look at the weather forecast it's worse.

I thought so too, but it's not actually going to rain heavily on Wednesday night at all - it'll be simply a drizzle, at absolute most. The rain will come mostly early Thursday morning, so there's no reason for anyone to not go tomorrow night because of the weather

I don't mean to keep boring you guys with weather details for the game tomorrow, but if it gets even just 1 more person there, then I'm happy to say it: I've checked nearly every website that has Perth's weather forecast, and they all seem to agree that we will not experience any rain until after the Glory game - around 11pm to be specific. If it does rain during the game, which is extremely unlikely, it will simply be a drizzle, so even less 'rain' than we got during Friday night's game. So please, tell everyone you know that they should not stay away from the game tomorrow night because of the weather - we need every single person possible to come to the game, support the Glory, and support our push for a new, or upgraded, rectangular stadium.

Wow which website gives you that sort of detail. ie rain after 11pm tomorrow.

Wow which website gives you that sort of detail. ie rain after 11pm tomorrow. Specifically about 3 websites do hourly, or 3-hourly, forecasts for the next 2 days, and they all agree on around that 11pm mark for solid rain to begin to fall, and the general daily forecasts of most of the other sites also seem to suggest late night rain

The 4 day forecast on the BOM site has the cold front hitting Perth around 10pm. If no pre frontal rain, we'll just get gusty NE/NW winds prior to the front with a warmish evening which will wip around to the W/SW and with it the rain. I just hope it holds off until after the game. Once the sky gets dark who knows what's up there if you can't see it???

Btw guys, just heard on Let's Talk Football podcast, Tood Howarth has definitely been offered a contract (1-year I think) and is expected to sign by the end of the week. I don't know if this has been announced or anything yet, but at least this shows it's confirmed. That would take our roster to 22 players, with one VISA spot left, but I would imagine that this will be the end of our signings for this season. We surely could not have a cent left.

It seems ever since the Kevin Phillips debacle, the Glory have been treading very, very carefully with signings etc.

On the Perth Glory Facebook it has been announced that Jamie Harnwell will be captain... It doesn't say whether it is just for the Fulham game or for the season.

Quote:PERTH Glory coach Dave Mitchell has instructed his side to watch-and-learn against visiting English Premier League team Fulham on Wednesday night. After pushing Wolverhampton all the way last week, the Glory will be looking for a repeat performance against Fulham.
The Glory had their chances in a 1-0 loss to Wolves on Friday night in a match Perth coach Dave Mitchell said provided his team with a valuable learning experience.
Mark Schwarzer's Fulham will provide Glory with a sterner test but Mitchell has told his charges to enjoy the match rather than worrying about the result.
"The result doesn't matter, it's a pre-season friendly," Mitchell said.
"It's more about us getting our shape and being organised and repelling Fulham, and having a go at the correct time.
"Enjoy the game and enjoy the experience.
"The shape is what we are looking at and enjoying the game, because it's not often you play quality opposition and by watching them you'll learn.
"They're a good side and we like to learn off these teams.
"We learnt things off Wolves and what they do and we'll pick up more things off Fulham.
"Fulham are a really good side and they had a good result (winning 3-0) against Melbourne.
"They're preparing seriously for the game and it will be a good test for us.
"But you want to do well. The performance is what I'm after, not the result."
Former Bundesliga striker Branko Jelic is expected to make his debut for Perth Glory in a 30-minute cameo performance off the bench.
But Socceroos defender Chris Coyne, who only arrived in Perth from England on Sunday, will miss the game due to lack of preparation.
Striker Eugene Dadi and defender Jimmy Downey are also expected to miss through injury.
The match will mark Fulham's final pre-season game of their tour of Australia, following a 2-1 loss to Gold Coast and the 3-0 win over Melbourne. From PerthNow

I'm actually hoping we see a front pair of Sterjovski and Bulloch. Scotty is always running when he came on against Wolves, and he deserves some game time following his hat trick, no matter how "lowly" you consider the side they faced. I also seem to see a bit of Rukavytsya's pace in him too.
Although I have much admiration for Downey and Dadi, they were possibly the two weak links if we had any against Wolves. When I first heard they'd miss out, I honestly thought it was Dave Mitchell's way of telling the media he was dropping the two from the squad.
My line up:
Bulloch Sterjovski Sikora Burns Shroj Pellegrino Howarth Todd Harnwell Coyne Velaphi
Jelic can make his 30 replacing who ever is more tired out of the front two, and Scotty Neville can come on second half for Coyne, OR switch Coyne to the left if Howarth is out of his depth.

I think Bullock/Sterj is a definite - Jukic is still injured, and Dadi will be rested. Burns is out too.
Aleks will be in goal tonight.

Coyne may move in for burns and Neville will get to start. well thats what i see. or they give a kid a run in CM. but i'd rather see my idea happen. Buttshire could have a start as Dadi's replacement. i'm looking forward to checking out how Howarth is in LB.
