If we had 13 home games last season, in the great scheme of all things being equal, will we be due for 14 this season? Trying to put some positives into the Membership $'s being asked for.

How's our squad looking and how many spots do we have left? Need another CAM and striker. Reports on here and from Irish friends for Andy aren't glowing and mention he's a striker that needs to be partnered up.
Next season is going to be much of the same, just Zad and Griffiths instead of Burns and McGarry. I guess it should be better, although I'm not that happy with signing Zad atm, he was better than McGarry last season. At least he will be able to run after his man instead of just pointing at him.

So, exactly the same position as 12 months ago????? #-o I don't expect either position to be filled with a key signing. This being the case, I expect another season of front third ineptness for Glory.

It's preseason, the only time I can be optimistic as a glory fan...don't take that away from me too.

Trying to work out if Keogh and Lowe can make it work in the narrow 4-4-2 diamond he was trying out last season but it just can't, not with two "established" wingers. Nebo would miss out at the minimum or be pushed back. Something like:
--Sidnei-Keogh--- -------Hersi---------- ---Nebo-Zadko--- ------Griffiths-----
But that looks so icky I don't really want to think about it...

As I said, doesn't look good. That front 6 is so underwhelming.

Is it really soo much? Griffiths we hope/expect will improve greatly with a full pre-season and integration into the team. He was basically an A-League star and fringe Socceroo, when he left the A-League and was a regular in the C-League. He could be the dark horse, improving greatly on his stint this season past. We certainly hope so! He came here with understandably a small degree of fanfare and entering into the last season of this contract, he will certainly be playing for his contract too!
Tend to agree with EG on Zadko - within the constraints of the role, he may 'a relative improvement' on Burns/McGarry, just due to his physicality and engine, let alone some of his better 'man marking' games for Newcastle? We know he's a mixed bag (to say the least), 'on the ball' but on the ball is only half of it and alot of the concerns with Zadko may be relieved if Griffiths shows the kind of form we saw at his previous A-League peak combined with...
Marinkovic also improving out of sight, via a full pre-season, acclimatising, tactically gelling with the team and growing into the A-League. Many VISAs take half a season or so to settle in, just see Hernandez and others? He scored a brilliant, top class, free kick last season and so perhaps that's some insight into his potential, moving forward? He's our Visa AM of choice, so he certainly needs to deliver and in a way his performance level could well be tied to that of Lowe's - so if he doesn't perform to the levels we need, then the team won't so Lowe won't be, so a mid-season change - beginning with the coach - may be instigated.
Hersi works hard and if he sees out most of the season, then there's a chance he could see form similar to Wanderers S1 and if so, that again alleviates concerns for our effectiveness going forward. He'd better - because we're paying him more than if he would've stayed with the 'more successful' Wanderers!
Keogh is the true variable and whatever he brings could really shake things up too. The others we've all seen something of, in this league, but he's the true spanner in the works in a key position.
We have to stay optimistic and there's every chance that front 6 could click and surprise us all, just as much as be as dysfunctional, underwhelming as a most of you predict? :-k
Interested to see insights of this team, the line ups and functionality, once we're deeper into pre-season, after a number of low key friendlies.

Quote:SUPPORTERS CONSULTATIVE COMMITTEE FINALISED
Perth Glory FC would like to congratulate the following members and fans who have been voted onto the Inaugural Supporters Consultative Committee. The Committee will comprise 8 representatives for the Club’s supporter base and will include: Matthew Stacey; Eamon Duffy; Abid Imam; David Della Roca; Brian Doherty; Colin Sharland; Amanda Speedy and Melanie White.
Perth Glory would like to thank all the supporters that took part in the selection process either as nominees or voters.
It is proposed that this committee meet a minimum four times a year at the Club’s offices with senior executive staff and members of the board, with the first meeting now scheduled to be held in early July. The minutes of these meetings will be made available online.
It is anticipated that the Perth Glory Supporters' Consultative Committee will amongst other things assist the Club in better appreciating the issues that most affect and concern our members and supporter base, as well as to give our members and supporters the opportunities to play a more significant role in helping us achieve success on and off the pitch.
The Club is also pleased to announce the 2nd Official Fans Forum will be held on Wednesday 2nd July at 7.00pm at ECU Joondalup SC Clubhouse.
Following the success of the 1st Fans Forum, which was held at the Terrace Lounge in the city the club have decided to move the proceedings to the Northern Suburbs with ECU Joondalup SC delighted to the host event.
On the agenda for discussion at the forum is:
1. Memberships 2. Pre-season 3. Player and Coach Recruitment 4. Other Business
The forum will be attended by the Club’s CEO, its media and membership managers, coaches and also a number of the Club’s players for the 2014/15 Hyundai A-League season.
Space is strictly limited and we would request that you pre-register to guarantee your spot.
Please email your name and any questions you wish to raise at the forum to:media@perthglory.com.au

I'm guessing that means that none of the 442 posters made it into the committee?
Biscuitman is Simon Ward Bovs is Michael Bovell
Any of the other posters in it?
Wasn't Biscuit at 8% at one stage? How did he manage to drop out...

Yes, I just missed out. Lots of multiple voting and apparently the candidate with the highest votes received lots of votes from supporters of other clubs after they saw a video he put up on Facebook. If you have seen it, you will know why supporters of other clubs would vote for him. Big rush of votes over the last two days and I had already exhausted my contacts. I did send an email to the CEO suggesting that given the gap between the top 9 and the remaining 5, combined with the tainted voting process, that they might consider expanding the committee to 9 rather than 8, but I didn't get a response.

Of course not, rational thought isn't welcome. It was a rather tarnished voting process, not that the candidates involved will give a fuck now...
Well done for putting your name in at least.

Im afraid the voting was a joke should of been just the members and only one vote each the club is about its members and why anyone else was allowed a vote is beyond me. As for the guy you are talking about who got them votes yea i did see the video and i reckon the voters were really just taking the piss out of him and the glory what a stupid way to get a committie however i wish them all the best and hopfully they will do well and not become yes men.

Few other things to look at in World footy besides our fixtures coming out. Hope I copied them correctly. Usual stuff like - First couple of matches I think at 2.00pm on October afternoons, Play Brisbane and NZ twice each in the first 8 rounds, Play Victory 3 times in 8 matches, Play in Melbourne on a Friday night, then back in Perth for Monday night against Adelaide, whom the plane just flew past, 14 home games, but it was due, Yes, 8 Saturday matches, but don't forget Glory kindly swapped 2 of these last season after fixtures released - and I still haven't forgiven them, Adelaide v NZ get the New Years Eve match in a change, whatever, who really cares at the moment ...
