Oh, and the West reporting that Zadkovich is out with a knee injury and Griffiths with a knee problem too. Glory Sets Sights on FFA Cup Grand PrizeKenny helpfully explained that Griffiths' problem is "a growth thing" with his knee which required reinjection of blood, but not an injury? Quick google on that seems to indicate that it is used to deal with osteoarthritic problems with cartilage etc...

Glad they have no injury problems going into the season. Nicholls looks like he's taking over Hernandez's burger eating role in the A-league Risdon looks like he has been taking eating lessons in the off season Griffiths with a buggered knee Zadkovich barely seen and now with a knee injury All the makings of a crap season.

Speaking of Edwards, is Cameron likely to feature much this season?

How small was the advertisement of the game in The West?
Didn't see anything in Fri/Sat/Mon/Fri/Sat that advertised it, just one article on Saturday before.

Nice that you are happy to see players injured. I know you want to see the team fail but celebrating injuries is pretty ordinary.

It's ironic because Glory pinned all their injury woes last season on Edwards and his lack of conditioning coach.
They are always a part of football. Don't think anyone wishes injuries on a player specifically (although Muscat getting a taste of his own medicine during his career would have been great).

Done, that's all it was. She did go on to explain how her father/or grandfather played when first in Australia, takes a big interest in the grandkids footy, and has had a mentoring role with the Australian women's team at some of their overseas tournaments, and so on. Was just thinking today how awesomely physical we will be this season. We have tough bastards all over the pitch and then a couple of dainty players out wide... Should be great from set pieces!

Thought of local footy legends, lead by Stan Lazaridis - but then we recall the terms in which Laza left the club, albeit though under a different ownership regime? And in the end, as you guys ask above - if Glory haven't even had one, not a celebrity/big note one, these recent seasons - then what's so bad about having Aussie sporting icon Dawn in there?! Given the context, I think it's a great thing infact and certainly a upgrade from recent times anyway. A positive, if minor, PR move and who DOESN'T like Dawn Fraser, I mean, C'MON! =d> Sure, could throw it in with the Benny Elias thing etc... but this isn't a board member, it's the #1 Ticket Holder - all good in my book, in this regard.

Should be great from set pieces! Glory have been a physical team for seasons now and no surprise that hasn't changed even with the likes of Harnwell and now Burns and co gone now. But yeah, mature, senior players, big defenders, a decent height striker with good experience, midfield fierce competition now (We still wonder how Lowe and the club will manage this?!) and so yeah, Glory, once again, if anything, won't be bossed. The A-League incarnation of Glory has rarely been pretty, but bar Ron Smith era, has always been combative, physical and competitive. Hopefully though, this season, we see a bit more class, refinement and quality into the mix though - that's something we all have been hanging on for seasons now - hopefully the midfield competition of Marinkovic, Nichols and De Silva, combining with Sidnei and new recruit Hersi. Those options have to combine to yield some productive outlet this season, for Glory to see the Top 6+ kind of success they always threaten/strive, but don't always achieve.
