Maybe Glory have found their Berisha. But in the same breath, Glory have started previous seasons in a rush only for all of it to turn into a shower of shit come Christmas time. They need to build on this. The Jets are Glory's bunnies/charity win so I will wait until the next game to get a better idea of where they're headed.

Was at the game last night. We did alright I thought. Not much ball movement, but we had very few chances and took two!! Spoke to Kenny Lowe briefly after the game and he said he was quite happy. He was particularly impressed by Keogh and Sidnei.

Nah, there wasn't much hoofing going on that I recall. It was just a bit scrappy at times. I must admit I'm a little concerned about how much weight Risdon is carrying... He looks like he has massively hit the gym or the burgers over the off season. Djulbic was a mixed bag last night, quality in the air but caught out if position on a couple of occasions. Clips by looked much improved. Ferreira was hopeless and nearly cost us a goal with a wayward pass. What I was stoked about was that we really only had a couple of chances and took two!! Vukovic was quality as well, looked very Sharp and only fumbled once before quickly recovering.

Following on Twitter it seemed like we had quite a few chances we failed to put away in the second half (Sidnei, Keogh). Was this not the case?

Pleased that Keogh has been scoring. Slightly alarmed that no one other than Keogh has scored so far.

My money would be on both. He started to tank up to improve his strength prior to his injury, after which he apparently had issues with weight and fitness (as can happen when you have a major leg injury.) Happy to see that Glory kept a clean sheet and managed to score more than once for a change. I may not be giving them money this season, but I still want them to succeed. Disappointing that we still aren't creating many chances, but at least it seems Keogh is more aware and intelligent with his positioning to finish the ones we do get- something we lacked last season.

From a non-Perth fan, it's great to see Jamieson back! I'm tipping Keogh for golden boot this season. Just as, or more, clinical than Berisha (I may regret saying that, I'm not sure  )

Very happy to see Jamieson back as well. Risdon is a worry, especially with Matt Davies still out injured (got hacked in an NPL game a couple of months ago). Clisby is probably the other option at RB but he is very left sided and plays much better centrally than either LB or RB.

Well seems Glory did better than some expecting. Had quiet faith they would do well, despite the absence of Thwaite. Gee Keogh sounds promising, good to hear.

To put into perspective, Glory did not lose a pre-season game against AL teams and lost only once in their first six A-League games last season. So a good start, but I've seen this all before only to end up as a basket case. I will be quite happy to not see this happen again.

You asked on the membership to post on this thread about my post re JON & Mark Coral and how in Hal 1 they stuffed up big time and JON is on record saying they got it wrong meaning he and Coral ... The end result was arguably the countries best ever owner in Nick Tanner left and he owned the stadium if I recall correctly..
There were two main issues ... first was in trying to take old soccer away from new football ... national flags and symbols were banned ... PG had a lot of Scottish and similar flags at their home games ... Given PG were never the problem however they were banned .... and the sometimes behaviour of the shed at the time was considered family unfriendly so some of the things they did were stopped...
Many fans left and as I said the person who showed the country how to run football i.e. Nick Tanner left ...
Hope this explains long time Glory fans will know a lot more ...

I kept calling him Xherdan Shaqiri on the night  As EG pointed out on the night, Jamieson looked incredibly lean - really fit. Edited by pv4: 7/8/2014 09:50:40 AM

Tana didn't own the stadium - he had the contract to manage it. The Town/City of Vincent owned the stadium which they later sold to the State Government as part of the stadium redevelopment deal. Tana's company Allia retained the management rights until they walked away from them recently with a big fat multi million $ payout. The game v Malaga was the last "Allia managed" game at NIB. Venues West has now taken over.

So, Glory lost 2-1 to the State Team. Looks like they put more of a B team out first half, it finished 0-0 at HT. Then brought on name players second half and lost 2-1, though according to Glory Twitter, Glory had a lot of chances.
Anyone go? Reports?
