Thank you Midfielder, for that insight and too rest of you for the additional discussion. That era still provokes introspection and interest as that's the decline of the Glory Empire, right there.

I know there is still a slightly gloomy, pessimistic outlook that exists from elements of long-term support, about Glory and how they're going - but in wider terms we still have to thank Sage for uplifting the club from where it was, when he and his former co-owners bought the club. It was a far darker, struggle street time and the club's existence/future direction was even a question.

Atleast Sage has got the club, it's stability and even ambitions to a point where we aspire to do more. That's what's so frustrating about the Sage era - it's delivered some things, but for the investment etc... he could have delivered soo much more even.

What a completely fucking depressing article and thread. 3 years ago and nothing has changed.

Indeed, alot of echoes today. Themes don't change too much. Hopefully their 'review process' whatever it involves, has improved from experience, to atleast examine Lowe's coming term through a more focussed, knowing, lense?

It's not unlike the discussion they had on Q&A last night, with the field of science themed discussion. It's hard to get outcomes, when the funding based on short-termism, short cycles. The over-arching theme was the need for 'vision' and when you have a vision or wider goal to aspire towards, then you can put things in place towards achieving those goals - that aspiration. The likes of Brisbane Roar and now AU have a football philosophy they're implementing and in Roar's case it's now officially evolved long beyond Ange's reign and continuing through Mike Mulvey. Roar clearly have a vision and aspirations following that style. They're the Roarcelona of this league.

While Glory still a hodge podge, mish mash, making it up as they go along, really no idea or really they DO have an idea?! To defiantly retain the status quo, despite all pretences and internal and third-party investigations?! :?

Indeed!! Heck, we optimists look forward to the glory days returning:cool:

It could deliver even more long winded pointless posts which will hearten us immensely.

The decline of the Glory empire prompts even more extensive discussion, cures for terminal insomnia and whatnot.

We wait with eternal optimism, albeit the light of reason, hodge podges, mish mashs and such like serve to confuse those of us who seek a short and simple exchange of views.

Heck, is that too much to ask for???

Guess I did revive the thread a bit prematurely, a strange reflection I see before me - must be that terminal insomnia we speak. :p

Any updates on Glory's pre-season, to revive the short and simple exchange of views?

A and B are spank material.

C isn't going to be done right by Macron.

D is ... holy crap, did they just grab a Canterbury Bulldogs jersey and put QBE on it?

Concur, definitely A or B for me too! Where's the link to vote on these?!

Looking at it closer - I favour B. It's the Swan on the shorts and general prominence. A more distinct and special appearance too? Even if it seems 'more standard' with the prominence of white? :-k Just the prominence of the Swan and different colour combination, seems to work well. Seems neatly, professionally laid out too. May look good in reality, on the players out on the pitch?

Read this from a few of you - that's quite sad if true? Hopefully he can sharpen up during A-League start. I truly felt he could push for the Socceroos even and he being called up for the A-League All-Stars kind of reflected he was amongst the league's leading RBs. He's one of the best, most established, local talents in this Glory side.

I just wasn't sure where to post our tangental discussion from the other thread, so thought not better place than here? :p

It's curious that f1dave's blog has been removed from the FFT site or the site re-design - so no archives of any of the old FFT bloggers? :-k

And imitation... flattery... mockery... sarcasm... I guess I can chose which way to interpret this generous gesture. :p

FTR Don't like to focus on the negative for Glory too much, or else why even support them? I do hope that things, whether under Lowe or another, work out better than many of us expect. Positive surprise? I mean, isn't that the life of a fan, in a way? If it really was soo predictably dire, then may aswell drop the 'Glory' from Perth - and I doubt I'd be the only one. :/

I can understand A (WA) black and yellow/gold
D isn't worth mentioning
But B & C .... Why are they purple and yellow?
I think you guys should have purple and orange like your badge.
Or even an orange based kit. You were using the colour before the Roar.

They're both black and yellow, they just look a tad purple in the image.

I'd like to see a bit more orange in our home and way kits, however the design brief for the third kit was an Aussie or west Aussie theme, hence the black and yellow.

Hmmmmm. :-k

Another Jets discard. Glory rejects go the the Jets and their rejects go to Glory.

It's a one-way reject exchange project.

Wouldn't that be two way?

Not sure he is a reject - think there were some personal issues associated with his departure from the Jets.

It's one-way in the context the rejects don't come back.

Yeah, only issue is possible squad imbalance - though O'Neill was utilised as a CB under Edwards, last pre-season and even Lowe utilised him there, in a game late last season.

biscuitman1871 wrote:

That's good news. TBH Was wondering when that would happen, ever since we heard news of his Jets release, to return home to Perth (For family reasons IIRC) - glad he's been given a chance. Another NTC product returned home?

Thing is Oxborrow could have been signed next season. With the NPL in off-season (soon?) there's no where for him to play, he'd still be available at the end of the year.

O'Neill is a DM, just because he can play in defence, he's not suddenly a defender. Ferreira is the same.

Yeah, but depends where the coach uses them too. As most players say, they'd prepared to almost play anywhere on the park, if it means they'll get a game! Especially the youngsters - the only way O'Neill and some others may see game time, is being played 'out of position' elsewhere or having to adapt. A squad's demands naturally warrant this, depending on where the needs/injuries are. And I think some, like Ferreira, are essentially signed as 'utility players' for that squad flexibility - that adds value to his signing and even the reason for it. Ferreira can and has played RB etc... too.

It just goes back to where Lowe sees them, sees where they're best utilised or most needed. Or even 'needed at all' - like getting left on the bench/in the NYL all season and then released (Not like we haven't seen that before :( ). That's the risk with some of these 'young players' (Quoting Kenny Lowe). :/

Trialist in a low key friendly doesn't mean we will sign him. I think Teeboy Kamara was training with the squad few weeks back but nothing seems to have come of that.

What's the point of trialling a player then? Teeboy would make more sense. I think Lowe wants a last-minute marquee in that spot though.

This kit looks familiar, Perth Glory leading the way

Dartford FC have released a third choice kit for the current season. The yellow and black strip will be used in the event of the darts home or away kits clashing when playing away from home this season. The first of these games is this weekend away at Nuneaton Town FC.
