Brisbane are still in the league. Adelaide are still in the league. Western Sydney are still in the league. Perth Glory are still in the league.
Yep, happy with that record.

Glory have only improved in 09/10 and 11/12.
All the other seasons they have gotten worse.
Edwards was not the only disaster.
Take out that 3rd place finish, the average placing for Glory has been 7th/8th.
Can't see the improving part anywhere. 3rd one season then sack the coach, that was wrong. last season was a disaster from the start. Poor recruitment followed by terrible team selections and inexplicable subsititutions. ....and who sacked the coach and appointed Edwards????? yep Sage did with huge pressure from 'fans' So, the fans fun the club????? ](*,) Just admit it. Glory has been a fucking shambles since Sage has had full control. The truth will set you free.

That for you is the inconvenient truth.

Not really. They're still a shambles. There's the inconvenient truth for you.

Good start, a bit scrappy in periods, and again relying on the flanks a lot, but im bit more confident now. Nichols and Keogh looking good.
2 goals is gd considering much of last season we struggled to get one.
Wellington could've easily taken more from that game had they taken their chances.

Yeah, multiple goals is good. Nichols will get some of those thunderbolts to stick as well.

A bit concerning in the second half with the Nix controlling for extended periods. Quality finish by Maclaren.

Maclaren and Keogh will bang them away in a strong fast Glory outfit. Kenny's football won't be pretty, but it may just work.

One word comes to mind 'shambles'. If you are going to base the whole season on one game, steady there big fella. One phrase come to mind: One swallow does not make a summer. However: Second win in NZ in 13 attempts Glory scored 2 goals away from home Two strikers scored the goals The forwards appeared to know what to do Nichols looked the goods The back 4 were steady Lowe seemed to make prudent subs Glory looked good in extended patches Let's see how Glory go against the Roar next week before we crown them champions.

I'm looking forward to seeing the partnership between Mclaren and Keogh. Would like to see him start over Garcia.

After watching last two Young Socceroos games, I can see why Glory were so keen to sign Jordan Thurtell. He is class, great shot stopper, quick and decisive off his line. Would rate him above Jack Duncan. Not great with his feet but still better than Duncan in that respect as well.

http://theworldgame.sbs.com.au/video/342668867638/Les-chats-to-Perth-Glory-owner-Tony-SageInteresting interview! Tony Sage seems such a likeable guy too - all the more shame those drunk louts insulted he and his family, those seasons back. Edited by GloryPerth: 16/10/2014 07:06:49 AM

I think HRs comment was more directed to the sarcastic stuff re: DDS.

Very interesting. Glory has lost/cost him $15m so far and expects to drop another $1.5m this year. Edwards still suing - Sage didn't give much away but dropped that the "revolt" started not with Jacon Burns but with some of the younger players who found out some info that they weren't happy with.

"when we first got there the average crowd was 4,000" - I don't think that's correct.
Wants to get 12-13k this year, 14-15k next year.
Tony Sage says Nick Tana's Glory gave away 5-6k free tickets from fast food franchises every week.
Admits he knew nothing about running a football club when he first took over.
Wants an independent A-league in the future.
Alistair still suing the club.

Also from the SBS site, a couple of interesting bits from Kenny - Mitch shouldn't be wasting his time at our level, we've no targets this season and we're rebuilding. All of which I'll ignore when we go on our long unbeaten run:
Lowe, whose playing career included stints at Stoke City and Birmingham City before his move into coaching, reckons Nichols, on loan from J.League side Cerezo Osaka for the season, could be the key to ambushing his former club on Sunday.
"Mitch is the best player I've been involved with since I've been in Australia," he declared. "He shouldn’t be with us - he should be playing at a higher level. "Even in my playing days, I don't think I played with anybody who possesses his type of perception and intelligence as a footballer."
Owner Tony Sage has set Lowe no specific targets this season and has backed his rebuilding program, with Lowe chuckling fatalistically: "Tony has supported me in everything we have done this year. What Tony is saying, more or less, is 'there’s your rope Kenny, go and hang yourself'.

7,671 in 06/07 the season before the SMS group took over. If he gets that basic number wrong/stretches the truth, what else does he????
