Clisby and O'Neill were both Ferguson signings, neither has even managed a regular place on the bench under 3 different managers. They both really need to start to break through now as I think places will start to become available next season.
The abundance of defensive mids has hindered both their chances.

He's beyond amazing atm in defense, breaking down play, tackles, intercepts etc. Decent in front of goal with the head. Absolute arse with the ball at his feet however. Gets caught with the ball and sprays bad passes more often than not. Griffiths was the curiosity last season - joined mid-season and we were hoping for the Griff of Mariners Days (An A-League star then, bought by a CSL club for $1.3M!) - but it seemed clear, even then, that he was another like Marinkovic and some others who needed a full pre-season behind them. Presto - those boys, plus a returning Jamieson etc... full pre-seasons, fresh and geared up with the squad and they're delivering the quality we all knew they could bring! The Griff of that era and perhaps the Griff of this era - always thought he Socceroos chance and surprised he didn't get a look in that earlier era. But he and Risdon are worthy of a shot - If the AC too soon, then during early WC Qualification, if their form keeps up. Ange has tried alot of players so far, but wouldn't hurt him to try these two aswell, especially given the issues/depth issues he's had at DM and RB. Edited by GloryPerth: 5/12/2014 10:23:41 PM I've been quite impressed with Griffiths this season, holds his position really well. IMO he has a better passing range than Burns and looks to get the ball forward more whereas Burns often passed backwards or short. I think this has allowed us to transition better from defence to attack. Its good to see the Glory playing with confidence again. Well done to Kenny so far, happy to eat my words.

Still no Sidnei on Friday night. Wonder if they are saving him for the Cup Final?

I'm all for the team getting involved in the community and trying to drum up support, But does anyone else find it embarrassing parading around a trophy before you have won it?

It was more than likely a prerequisite of making the final. I think it is a great idea. It will hopefully bolster the crowd for tonight's game (which I'm spewing i'm going to be missing, thanks work) And if we get a win tonight, pull off an FFA cup win then next saturday I'm thinking Glory could go close to 18k fans at a stretch.

Boy oh boy, 8-1-1 now - Glory just keeps on keeping on! Can it continue much longer? I'm a glass is half-full type, so I'd like to think so! And looking at it, the squad depth Lowe has alluded, competition for places, I can't see why not.
 Rostyn G's reaction to Joel G's reaction making the highlight reels. :p
Ahh the old Jets rivalry that F1Dave used to talk about, still keeping up! :)

Garcia is too old and too slow. And we've got him for another year. Maclaren seems to be better off the bench but should be getting at least 30 mins. Not sure why DDS was subbed off tonight, I thought the obvious change was Sidnei for Garcia and swap DDS to the right. Gombau out coached Lowe again tonight. Kenny needs to come up with something given that we still have two more league games against them.

always up against it with nicholls out and zadkovich his replacement - I was really enjoying the season until that hack showed up.
But in fairness, we probably would have struggled even with Nicholls.
DDS off was Kenny's way of giving up on trying to win midfield ball. Went for the low block and long ball - kind of can't be too hard on Kenny for making that call, but it was a bit depressing. Adelaide were fantastic tonight and really worked us over. We tried hard which was great, but still a big gap between us and them.

Lowe needs to find a replacement for Hersi. The logical replacement would be McClaren, maybe Sidnei could provide something similar. But he needs to get rid of Garcia he's wasting a good 70 minutes out their, might as well give it to McClaren - the kids gotta be pushed for more performance wise, not just 30 minute cameo's.

We're fucked on this salary cap issue, unless sage can prove that they were 'unrelated gifts' or something to that effect.

The marquee changes with Thwaite & Marinkovic were understandable, especially with the last-minute way the FFA changed the way loans need to be accounted for possibly affecting the salary cap impact the Mitch Nichols deal had, but if these other issues are correct then it looks pretty dire for PG.

Hopefully the club has this all under control, or else a large points deduction could be coming our way. Sage will crack it either way unfortunately.
