They can't arrest you if you're under 18. The only thing they can do is tip it out and send you on your way. He must have done something else then.

Yeah and if they searched him properly they would have found plenty of weed too. I used to be good mates but he moved schools so I only ever see him at parties now so we aren't that close anymore. Don't worry though I'm not a goon drinker, my only experience with it was when a kid passed me a bottle full of it told me to pinch my nose and skull, I immediately regretted it.

I'm pretty sure they can't even fine you in NSW.

I believe the rules are:

If you're under 18 and caught in possession they tip it out on the spot and order you to move on/go home. However if they find the person who supplied you the booze (which they rarely do, cause nobody grasses :p) then the person gets fined.

lol Ive only had goon once. It was warm cause it was sitting in someones bag and I didnt find out it was 2 months old til after a had a mouthful. Never again. Although if its still cheap when schoolies is on it might be too hard to resist...

Best: Found out what actually happened with my mate. Turns out you can't get arrested. He dose drink, but he didn't get caught with any, it was just two of his mates.

Yeah didn't think you could. I've been stopped by police heaps when I've been drinking and all they do is what Heineken said, they just tip out your drink and tell you to go home, which mind you no one's going to take that well smashed at 3am in the morning:lol:

We got caught underage drinking as 16 year olds by cops. They made us pour out the alcohol then got our names and sent a letter home to our parents. We had to either pay a fine or attend a weekly class for 6 weeks about alcohol education with one parent each.

Can't remember what the fine was but nobody paid it we all went to the alcohol education thing with our parents.

BTW this was about 9 years ago not sure if the same laws apply.

I never got caught by cops, but mind you my rents are tight, so i never really started going out to parties untill i was in Year 11/12. (and i still copped shit off my mum :lol:, still do, overprotective etc. But they crashed our Year 12 formal afterparty at 4am in the morning, but there were too many drunk teenagers :lol:. They would have had to call down several units of the riot squad, and they'd still be sending out letters to parents :lol:.

I'm 18 now so it doesn't matter no more :)

Best: Got a big weekend ahead, deb tonight and then an 18th tomorrow preceded by pre drinks with a group of mates I don't get to hang out with as much as I would like so that will be good. Even better is a mate offered to be my designated driver and supplier for the night.
Best: Breezy day today, there was a politics excursion/lecture that my mates and I didn't go to so we picked up a double free and had no obligations to be anywhere so we just did a maccas run.
