There must be around 30/40+ people from my year at school that go to uni at Wollongong. I hardly see any of them at uni. It probably has to do with me being only one of two doing a bachelor of engineering, the only one doing Mechanical engineering and me not hanging around the bar or cafes because I am not particularly fond of the beverages sold there.

In my first semester of uni, I went out and bought some the textbooks at those ridiculous prices...and barely used them. So, in the last few years, I've waited a few weeks to see if I could survive without them. Since first year, I've bought 3 books (One I went halves with, one second hand).

You can always make up some of what you spent by selling them on after you've finished with them.
