WGMG: The complete dismissal of the a-league and the Asian Champions League by people who play the game even without ever having attended a professional match. Tonight at training I was told by all in attendance that they would rather watch AFL and NRL trial matches than watch the elite level of the game in our country play. In my opinion they may as well not train. You learn by watching and then trying to replicate. In all my years of playing I believe that the most improvement in my play has come after I started going to Sydney's games in the last few years and trying to replicate the runs, positioning, passing, and shooting of the midfielders and stikers. WGMG: The agreement made by the team, through majority vote, this year that we are going to fitness train for an hour and a half on Tuesday and an hour on Thursday followed by half an hour of ball skills. Apparently we are going to win our games by our superior fitness even though last year without really training we were obviously way ahead of the other teams in terms of fitness. I expect that there will be no real thought going into improving how we play its just going to be boot and run again this year and we will be picked to pieces by the teams that actually put some thought into how they play us.

That is the one thing I hated about having a coach who was just an incompetent fuck. Just made us run all the time. Coaches need to realise that fitness training is fine before the season starts but once the season starts is just pointless and all the running should be done with a ball at the players feet.

We don't have a coach. All but one other player in the team has that mindset and we just get drowned out. Half the training sessions I have had enough of the fitness and just juggled and kicked around a ball with the other player while everyone else did laps and had a dig at us for not sticking with the team.

The mindset of the team is really that as we are in the All Ages our skills are not going to improve. Which is bullshit. I could improve pretty much every one of the players in my teams games if they seriously listened to what I had to say. I bet that they could do it themselves if they actually looked at how they play and thought about it.

With the ability of players we have if we had a coach could organise us and that people would listen to we should be around the 7's or higher. A team that we used to destroy in the 18's and 21's was one of the better teams in the aa7's last year. It seems as they have gone forward we have plummeted.

For some reason I thought you played a heaps higher grade. It is not the lowest but is still a pretty low level and anyone with a football brain could coach an awful team to league glory, as was evident with Menai last year who after being beaten at least by 4 goals in their first 8 games. Then when they got a coach they conceded just 3 goals and didn't lose until the final. I would like my team to play in a heaps higher grade just so that we could start seeing the improvement that I see in it but can't be realised playing in the hack leagues without a coach against players way below our skill level.

It was the 16's last year. I watched a friend who was in the aa16's grand final last year. I hadn't ever imagined that the game could be played so badly. I can't even think of what a game between the bottom two sides in that competition would be like. Quote:I will coach you guys ;) I have been trying to convince a friend that I used to play with but had to quit because of injuries and now is a coach of teams of the younger teams to try and coach us.

Thats a question i was asked by norm boardman who is one of the best coachers in nsw, he asked as a coach would you prefer your team to be athletes who could run all day and no skill or players who had skill but no athletic ability what so ever, its a tough one, both have pros and cons, WGMG - Going for a government job had to fill in an online test i had 18 questions to finish in 5 mins, didnt even get close, got 11 done, it was questions where they give you 5 bits of info and then give you a couple of questions on each not questions you can really just guess,

Fitness is paramount in the pre-season, and even a bit in the first few weeks. After that, all we did was some sprints and laps, but most time was spent with the ball.
WGMG: running into my teacher as i flee the building... Resulting in me having to go to class.

WGMG: Football team I coached last year has been split up amoung the differnet teams this year, and some which had a lot of ability (about as much ability as a 9 year old can have anyway) aren't playing, at least for the same club, anymore :( .
