And that's just one of them, so many others have changed like that too, I don't really like hanging out with them anymore.

So don't. Once you get out of school a whole new world of social options open up to you. The thing with highschool is that you're forced to make the best of a shit situation so as not to seem like "the weird kid", so you become "friends" with whatever's available to you.

Once you leave highschool you've got a much broader world with many more people with similar interests to you.

Yeah I know, but it's going to be hard finding other people to hang out with for the rest of school, since everyone's in their "groups" now. I have friends outside my normal group of people, but then I don't really like/know some of their other friends.

WAGMG: Trying to decide whether or not to go to the ball. I'm sure it's going to be really fun, but at the moment I don't have a date, a dress, or much money to afford an outfit/tickets.

Tickets are $80 for 1, $150 for 2 (I think) and ball dresses are like $150 at the cheapest, plus I'd need to buy shoes and jewellery to match, and get my hair/make-up done.

Faaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrk. You need to find a new school. Ours was $30 stag, $50 pair, and suit hire was around $80-120.

WGMG: Passports. Mine expires in december and just renewing mine is bound to devastate my holiday account.

It's a student run ball so it was always going to be much more expensive. And I'm a girl so everything costs more to do :P it's not as simple as just a tux. Oh, and I forgot to mention the cost for transport too :?

You have a "Pretty Committee"?

We just had a ball comittee which consisted of the prefects and anyone else who wanted to be there. As I was on it a bit unwillingly, I just attempted to lobby for a Mexican theme.

Yup we do have a self appointed "Pretty Committee" and when I say student run ball, I'm meaning if the school found out we were doing it, it'd be cancelled in a heart beat and suspensions could even be handed out.

Does your school have a school ball?

Ours was run by the ball committee with funding from ticket sales. The initial costs guarantor-ed by the student council. The only thing the school didn't control was the afterball which they just ignored and put notices out distancing the school from the student-organised afterball, even though quite a few of the teachers would turn up.

Why does everyone have to hire transport to their ball/formal? Most my friends either caught a train and walked or rode a push bike there.

Only yr13's get a school ball, us yr12 have been banned from having one unfortunately :( . I'm not sure if we have a proper afterball organised yet, I know a few people who've put their hands up to host it though.
