Had this happen to me, went to Australia post, paid to get my photos taken, got my form to fill out, completed it carefully (as my g/f had trouble the week before) went back for my appointment at the same Australia post, gave them my form, "nope not filled out correctly come back later", was like "ok fair enough" went back for another appointment, "no no no no, its still wrong, you cannot put the dash through the 7" cause thats how I write my 7's, it was how I was taught, so went back again! Form was all good, and then get my photos out and they tell me my photos are wrong, I was furious, it was the same person who took the photos a few weeks earlier, who also got out their little thing to test to make sure its perfect for the passport, he told me I'd have to pay for new ones, so I swore at him and left, went to annother Australia post, they said the form was fine the photos were wrong, as they were checking my forms I was telling them the story of my previous experience and she took my photos for free.
To this day I will not go to my local australia post. stupid jerk

The thing that gives me the shits is the parental thing. If they have my Birth Cert, can't they just look up the people on it themselves? I mean, do we seriously live in a country where the capital city's birth records aren't available to the federal departments situated within it?

Would it get sent back because my date was 18/4/11 and not 18/04/2011? Or because a bit of a pen mark went outside the white square? Ridiculous. I can kind of pay the photo thing, but it was less than a cm, seriously.

I've got two middle names "David Benjamin" (for atheists, my parents went overboard wiht the fuckign biblical names). When I got mine done I only had David on the form, my bank statement has Benjamin on it, while my Learners Permit has "Joshua D." So I had to go and find my fucking birth certificate and go back. They also cracked the shits because my signature touched the edge of the box. Not went over, touched.

Possibly. Passports are fucking important things man, they have to do this.

You want them to get it right anyway, becuase you don't want to be the guy stuck in customs in a country not allowed in because of your passport being 'not quite right'.

This. I almost got stuck in Singapore because in my passport photo my hair is down to my shoulders where as then I had a mohawk :lol:

My dad had the same problem going into Canada with facial hair.

I also nearly got stuck in Singapore on the way to Japan, but that was because there were scissors in my hand-luggage. I put them in there by accident a couple of days prior. Funny how the people at Perth airport didn't notice anything:lol:
