As a former SSF "referee" I have seen how parents and children are at this age especially on game day, it's standard practice really for parents with young girls to be extra careful whilst they are playing especially if they are playing against boys. You will always get a kid in the team who is a bit of a joker, but as the coach of a kids team it's important for them to have fun at training (yes all 4 of them) whilst learning the basics, if he does not want to learn, that's his and his parents issue.

It's fine for the parents to want to be careful, but not be be wrapping her in fucking cotton wool. I only started playing when I was 10, and I would run at guys twice my size all the time in the game, and trust me, I'm not an ultra confident or outgoing person. This girl has played (if you can call it that) for 4 years already and she might touch the ball once in the game, if we're lucky. We try and make trainings fun, but you can't really do that if no one's paying attention. If they fuck around and don't listen when we're getting them to play games and do fun drills, then they can go and run laps for the rest of training for all I care. I have no issue with people joking around, but it's gone far beyond that, now it's just being disrespectful to us as coaches and to their team mates.

People are different, I know small kids who will run at anyone and larger kids who are timid when it comes to soccer. Are these kids playing a high grade and is it competitive? You can't really take offence to a 10 year old who does not want to train, if they don't want to, they don't want to. They are probably unaware of the fact they are being disrespectful considering they are 10, if they act like that, it's a representation on their parents rather than the team's coaching and the team

That age group is tough, but you'd hope that if the were there they'd WANT to be there instead of dicking around. School teams are the worst in terms of discipline. They are probably unaware of the fact they are being disrespectful considering they are 10, if they act like that, it's a representation on their parents rather than the team's coaching and the team I don't care if she won't run at boys who are bigger than her, I don't care if she doesn't want to run towards anyone at all, I'm just sick of her running away from the ball and all the action, and I'm sick of her not trying at all. They used to be playing in a higher up division, but now the teams have been regraded, and we should be playing against teams of similar skill level. We're better than these new teams, but the players won't work together and not all of them will put in 100% effort, so we still lose. If they don't want to train, then they can fucking stay at home instead of ruining it for those who do want to train, and those who need to train because they're not at a high enough level for their age, and so are bringing the team down. The thing that gets to me is that these kids listen to their parents, they probably listen to their teachers most of the time, and they'd listen if it was a guy coaching the team, but since we're just teenage girls, neither the kids nor the parents have any respect for us or treat us like adults. At my school we have a coaching course for PE and we go to a primary school and coach some of them. Some of them are a few screws short, but not afraid of the ball fortunately.

WGMG: school football is the biggest joke. We had people playing today who didn't even have boots or the team shirt on. WGMGEM: My friend didn't want to play. I have no fucking clue why. It's not like he was upset with anything, he's just like "LOL not playing". We needed him as well.

No he didn't, but he had that look on his face, like he thought he was being hilarious. I felt like punching him because everyone else gave their hardest today and we lost 1-0.

We has that in High School, but had it in League, Union, Cricket, Football and Basketball and would have a round robin tournament in each sport with 3 yr10 teams, 3 yr 11 teams and a combined yr12 team + the teachers team.

We had one teacher (rest his soul) who was about 6'8" in the old money, thus the teachers dominated. He got the ball at the top of the circle, took one step and dunked over some poor kid. Fucking win.

We had a netball tri-series between Staff, Netball 1 and the 1st XV back in the day.
One year we (1st XV) upset the netball side and won it.

Partly because the refs at other schools are kids. Mind you, at ours we have an official football west ref who lives locally and the school pay him to ref.
