What have you learned about buying lurid flashy boots?

WGMG: Being told to shut up on the field by team mates and then being told at halftime by the same teammates that the team does is not talking enough. FFS I talk plenty but you just don't want to hear it.
WGMG: Being criticised for holding the centre because I my postion was left wing, when our centre midfielders had been everywhere but centre midfield all game.
WGMG: Stubborn teammates who refuse to change anything to with how the team plays "because we have always played that way".

And then you ask them how much they've won...

This is exactly why I don't like flashy boots, the kids spend too long looking at their boots and not focussing on the football. You're exhibit A.

I'm not usually one for flashy coloured boots though either, I just really liked these ones, lime green =p~ and gave in to temptation. I don't like black boots either though really, I usually go with white boots myself.

In all fairness, i neve rlook at them during a game. Its always afterwards, i look down and think "fuck, they're dirty". black boots are just as good IMO, will probably buy a pair next year.

Yes, but you should be thinking about how you played after a game. Where you worked with teammates, what you missed, etc. Instead you're worrying about whether your boots are still bright blue.

WGMG: Taking shots in the nuts while playing keeper.

i got that last week at training, we were practising 1 on 1s, our coach tells the players to stop being careful and try blasting one in, then the girl on our team comes through and blasts the ball into my nuts.

I didn't say I didn't do that. I do that while I'm stretching, which is the first thing I do after the coach has talked. I care about how I played more than the colour of my boots.

Not as bad as being kicked in the nuts with metal studs on a 1v1.
