Did you ever consider that they aren't trying to be "cool", they are just following their interests and don't care too much whether you approve of their life choices or not? I think I know them a little better than you do. Much like they would know themselves better than you do...? So you're trying to tell me that their "interests" and "life choices" are smoking pot and picking up ipod chargers?

Plus, as Funky will attest, we did the same thing as kids at highschool, going for beers and real food at lunchtime. Not because we were trying to be 'cool', but because we felt like it.

Marijuana is not addictive, but it is hella fun. I know what they used to be like, I know what they're like now, and I also know that they think it's "cool".

I do plenty of things that I enjoy, that might be considered 'cool'. Should i stop doing them, because I'm apparently not actually doing them for my own enjoyment?

I'm sorry sir, but the fun police demand that you stop doing things for your own enjoyment and to impress others and only do things that are tedious and dull. The big deal is that this morning a girl got stood down for trying to drive her friend (who was sick) home, as her parents weren't able to get her. We're not allowed out of school at lunch (or any time really), we're not allowed to drive friends from school places in uniform, unless you've signed a special permission form thing, and it's against the law to drive another person your age around on a restricted license, without parental supervision or whatever.

Your inital statement was that they were trying to be cool by going home to get an ipod charger and smoking weed with drop-outs. Why would we assume that there was more to it than the information you volunteered? Next time you're getting upset, why don't you mention that they're breaking several laws instead of committing acts of civil disobedience?

I don't feel that everything I say needs a long backstory to it. If you want more information, just ask, don't always assume. Why the fuck would I care that they were leaving at lunch to get something from home if they were allowed to anyway?? Heck, if that was the case I would've joined them.

I don't have time to ask everyone for all the details about every story I'm presented with. There just aren't enough hours in the day. Therefore I, and most people, make executive decisions based around the information they're presented with purely on a practicality basis.

I'm sure when I was 16, we all drove around with our mates who were lucky enough to have their restricted. Boys and girls! In time you will start to see the broad nature of New Zealand's profound drug culture. Did you know that over 70% of New Zealanders between 15 and 21 have used cannabis at least once?
