Total bullshit. It's not really sexist, There's every reason for that rule. In mixed games it stops teams with 4 or 5 girls being bullied by teams with more males in the side, it also stops the teams with more girls from having a numerical advantage in the attacking third, since male players can't enter the forward third. You won't find an all-guys team competing against a mixed team. we have a single girl on our team in a guys comp, she doesnt like playing against girls because she says she feels guilty if she plays rough.

Pfft, I don't get pushed off the ball easily. Anyway, I would've joined a mixed social section, so it was going to be more of just a friendly kick about. Bolded rule isn't used here as far as I can tell.

Hah, she should see some of the girls that I've come up against! They certainly don't mind playing rough (or dirty).

At your age, the physical differences aren't as significant as in seniors.

It's probably not the running they're sore from. ;)

afromanGT wrote:How did you run at the carnival, benjo? i didn't go too ba dthanks. I'd won the 800 and 1500 beforehand, albeit with no serious competition (and my times suffered as a result). I was pretty keen to win the 400, and I ran 58.2 seconds, a new PB. My mate promptly went and ran 57. 6 after telling me he'd get nowhere near that  i think another guy in my year beat us both, he didn't find out his time though. Still happy with 3rd, but I still would have liked to race the other two at the same time. I'm not a fan of setting the pace, i love having similar people to my ability in athletics so i can push myself, and my faction didn't have any other brilliant400 runners. My 100 wasn't bad, ran 12.91. Would've been about 7th overall, good considering I'm not a sprinter, 5th if my friends hadn't had been recorded as having quicker times by the dodgy timers  The guy who won ran 11.4 or something crazy...and my friends who finished a tleast half a second behind him minimum were recorded as getting 11.6 and 12.11. Bollocks. Finished 5th overall (I think) in the 200 with a time of 27.05. Least favorite race and didn't do too badly at all. field events were pretty crap, but better than usual for me  I got about 7 and a half for shot put, and 4.97 for long jump. No idea about javelin/discus. Also kicked 43 metres in the footy kick event (it's funny how our school regards it as an athletics event), which would've been about top 5 most probably. I know a four other people got 43 metres as well, winner kicked 49.50. From a near standing start. Not sure whether i did enough for a medal. We shall see. The fact I won the two events only a few others ran will give me a big boost, adding to my 400 placing.

WGMG: Everton's loss. One good thing to come out of it: Ross Barkley. Bright spark for the future of the club.

WGMG: Constantly whinge over Anelka/Malouda, then they both win a match for us. <------ Not mfw
He was a man of specific quirks. He believed that all meals should be earned through physical effort. He also contended, zealously like a drunk with a political point, that the third dimension would not be possible if it werent for the existence of water.
