I lost weight by just exercising but a diet is just as important if not more. I find it mentally rewarding to follow one

the only diet i've seen actually work is the protein diet - the mrs tried a few out (why, i don't know, she's f*cking skinny & hot). all the diets she tried didn't do too much, and for some reason she was obsessed with weight as a number and not worrying about anything else (which imo is the wrong way to go about it, because weight is JUST A NUMBER) so persisted to continue trying diets. the protein diet she tried (one of those ads on tv where the body builder dude has his hands together and guarentees you'll lose x amount of kgs in x amount of time) made her lose kgs insanely quick. i swear there were no kgs to lose, and she lost i think 6 in a fortnight. the only problem was physically it drained her, she had no energy whatsoever, so she was basically starving herself. she asked me to do it with her for support, and after a week of doing it i played a football game & was exhausted 10mins in. so if you're worried solely about weight as a number, do the protein diet. if you're worried about being healthy, don't restrict yourself to a set diet but just be generally aware of what you're eating and make sure you get your daily water, fruit & veg intake and you'll probably be eating pretty healthy, but just exercise.

wgmg: i'm looking into doing an online-course so i find the page with basic info on the course & can't find any further information. so i use the in-built-contacts-us on the site to ask a few more detailed questions that i want to know before committing my money into this course. i get an email back a few days later from what seems to be a lady who doesn't know about the specific course but is more of a general-taking-questions-in-chick and she replies by saying check out this page (and links the page i used to actually make the enquiry) and says "you'll have to contact the people in charge of the course". after hours of searching i can't find any info on which people run the course and who to contact, so i send my chick an email asking who actually runs the course and she replies with a name yet no contact details (and the contact details i can't find on the site).

thanks for making this easy for me ffs!

i should add, there's a deadline to enter the course, and it's coming up quick, hence why my gears are ground that the chick hasn't responded better and swifter.

Much much easier said than done.

Mmmm three problems for me with that. 1) I'm already really low on energy so I can't afford to have any less, and it wouldn't be helpful for me with running and playing football, 2) I can't follow any specific diets without my parents noticing, and 3) There's no way I could eat that much protein.

yeah it's a definite slog to actually do it right, and it's not that enjoyable. my mrs was happy with the weight she lost (she looked freaky skinny imo), but she barely had the energy to celebrate it.

your third point is the most difficult in the diet imo. waking up to eat a handful of legham only every morning is not fun at all. and when you're in the mood to skip your morning tea snack of a handful of salami, you're not allowed to skip it. it's hard to just eat cold meats like that.

but yeah do what i said at the end - make sure you get your daily intake of the good stuff, and you'll probably be eating relatively healthy in general. and exercise at least 4 times a week.

Clearly you're donig it wrong, nothing better than eating a stick of salami or pepporoni for a snack! also you can mix up your protein in the morning with say eggs and ham, a brilliant combonation (you can also use wraps and mountain bread as an alternative to glutin based breads if you need them), plenty of beans contain protein and are low GI. Also there are a ton of protein drinks available to help increase energy levels when drastically changing your diet like this.
however it is very dangerous to go on a protein diet if you're not actually burning the added protein, after all it's there to create muscle mass not make you look pretty.

It's also good to remember that if you're going to eat a stick of salami or any other delicious meat as a snack or meal, they're high in colestorol and are happy to kill you.

so I guess what grinds my gears is the delicious meats i love so are only a sometimes food as my German heritage makes me a high risk cardiac patient due to my love of (no pun intended) foreign sausage!

it doesn't bother me enough to get it checked out. i can eat egg, and actually enjoy it in things like burgers & other meals. but i can't get it down without mixing it in with other stuff. i'm putting it down to a mental thing, because i can eat egg on toast but can't stand the thought of egg alone.
