Bingo. The whole hating on Nickelback thing is ridiculous.

Yeah I have never understood this either.

WGMG: Reality tv. Some of them i dont mind like The Amazing Race, but thats about it, the rest are all just waste of my time. I didnt mnd the first 3 seasons of Survivor too, after that, no.

WAGMG: How far society has fallen. Nicki Minaj as a judge on American Idol and in fact a role model for our kids. Time to take that XXXX island one step further and form our own country. People of North Korea in a way are quite lucky to have the type of control they have, in a way.

Amen to that man.

Reality TV is promoting narcissism and psychopathic behaviour. Not sure if I agree with your North Korea statement. That form of control is more blatant. Our society is just as bad. The amount of 'selfies' pics going around on fb and twitter is proof of all this.

Im not saying i agree with the North Korea system, it was more just a way to show my sentiments. Our society is sooo far fallen its ridiculous. The way people go crazy over certian songs and the fact we have lyrics that blatanty degrade one gender or another or one society or another and they are hailed as great songs and blasted on our radios. Then we have TV shows that promote promiscuity and what not, have you seen MTV lately, not MTV anymore.

Its just disgraceful that people like Rihanna, Nicki Minaj etc etc are seen as role models and so on. i weep for society.

The more reality TV that's played, and the more young people who are idolizing Big Brother house mates, and The Shire 'stars', the more I think that Extremist Islam might have a valid point.

Maybe they saw this coming. Decided to act.

WGMG: Uni getting in the wy of two things I want to do. First, my running coach asked me if I'm interested in helping out at the Interschool Athletics carnival for my old school, because they need to provide 10 officials. I really want to go and I get paid $100 for it (I would've done it for free tbh). But I have a quiz worth 10% of my mark for my journalism unit that week, I think I'll be able to do it some other time, but I'm not sure.

The second thing is much more annoying. My running coach is taking a group of kids from the school up north to run athletics clinics up in Geraldton, as they don't get anything of that type up there even though they apparently have some fantastic runners. As a senior member of the squad, I've been invited to go up there and help out, which I'd love to do. The camp runs from Friday the 4th to Monday the 8th (a public holiday), with the senior members joining up withe everyone else on Saturday. I checked my uni schedule and everything is fine except one unit, the art unit which I have no idea why I'm doing and don't understand how it can be a core unit of journalism. According to the unit outline, i have to set up whatever I'm going to do for the end of year exhibition by Monday the 8th at 10:00AM. I won't get back until the evening if I go on this camp. Hopefully i can sort something out with my tutor, but I'll be extremely pissed off if I can't go because of that.

benjo - have you been to geraldton before? you're not missing out on a whole lot. i've spent a lot of time there, as for 10+ years my sister lived in dongara (she's recently moved back home). i've had a few friends get viciously attacked by an incredibly aggressive aboriginal culture that has developed in geraldton.

WGMG: Tribal tattoos. They mean nothing, only guidos and douchebags (both related) have them

He was a man of specific quirks. He believed that all meals should be earned through physical effort. He also contended, zealously like a drunk with a political point, that the third dimension would not be possible if it werent for the existence of water.

i try to ignore it, sometimes its hard cos they shove it right in your face. I barely ever listen to radio in the car, if i do its usually JJJ, but otherwise i just put on my own cds.

Thing is though, the majority of society get sucked in to this idiotic and silly trick of reality tv and crap music, i wonder if the movie Idiocracy will ever be a reality at this rate.

I choose to ignore it pretty much. Whilst I'm open minded I decided about a year ago that I'm not watching reality TV anymore. I feel it is form of control. It's keeping people in front of the tv rather than spending quality time with their families. As far as pop stars like the ones you mention it's all manufactured plastic music. I listen to JJJ as all the other stations sound the same.

i try to ignore it, sometimes its hard cos they shove it right in your face.

I suspect there are more waking up to it the we really think. I have just ordered on Amazon George Orwell's 1984 haven't read that since high school. Scary how most of the fiction he writes is now non-fiction . Have to see that movie you mentioned.

Unfortunately i dont think there are as many waking up as would like. Even at uni, i just notice people and sometimes it just annoys me how they talk or carry on.
