There are some people saying it's legit, but I think they're just confusing wall posts and PM's. As far as I know there's no way that the two codecs can be confused. And even that aside, the only people really worried about this have something to hide.

I think these people you mention are just so technically incompetent that they don't realise the difference between their timeline and their message system.

This has never happened to me nor have I ever heard of it. AFAIK the only change they made to the message system is the graphical user interface (the way it is visually presented) in the Facebook smartphone apps to be more in-line with SMS displays on phones. In other words, all they friggin did was put the text in speech bubbles.

So what's actually happening?
