Urgh, I've asked them, but apparently they've booked the place and ordered the food and stuff. I'm mad grumpy at them.

Is it rude not to show up to my own 21st?

Did they ask you when you wanted to have it before they started organising it? My parents started asking me when was the best time to hold mine about half a year before my birthday so they didn't run into things like this. I ended up having my 21st more than a month after my birthday because it would have clashed with other things I wanted to do.

Its not 'their' deskpace. Its a deskpace that everyone uses, we all shift rosters and have to use the same cubicles and you dont get to use the same one each shift.

They didn't want to have it before I turn 21 and too close to Xmas. My birthday is on the 13th, and the derby falls on the weekend of the 15th. They didn't want to have it after Xmas either, and according to them it was the only weekend they could have booked it. I did tell my dad not to organize it on the Saturday of the Derby.

Looks like I'm going to have to separate myself from my family for 90 minutes.

Which is surprising because a lot of companies are quite strict in enforcing hot desking policy. Even so far as not allowing coats to be hung on the backs of chairs... while you're sitting, working. ](*,)

My work is a pretty laid out relaxed place like that, or at least tries to be. They often try and bring out rules and regulations but never seem to be able to stick with them.

WGMG: Went to visit a mate yesterday, watched a couple of recorded EPL games. Then I remembered why I stopped sitting with him at A-League games:

1. He is a Chelsea fan who thinks they have a divine right to win the league.
2. He thinks most players...if not all...are shit. If a player is having a blinder, he apparently "goes alright".
3. He hates the smaller clubs being in the EPL.

I just forgot that there is no-one on the planet I disagree with more on football.
