Fridays forecast for Saturday was thunderstorms all day, it was sunny from 10am til late. And you're going by an 8 day forecast? Chill.

Oh good, I hope that's the case then too.

Weather forecasts pretty much change daily (at least in Wellington they do) so it'll be all good :)

Yeah, it's just that I find the extended forecast in the Newcastle Herald to be pretty accurate.

I would love to play a round of golf, my mates though are not really the golfing type so i wouldnt have anyone to go with. Its hard enough getting them to the driving range.

Isn't there a rule that if you're going to graduate and exactly this happens, if you haven't failed anything previously and you're close enough in said course, they let you through so as not to prevent your graduation over one course?

Hope that made sense.

yeah i only play about once a year due to no motivation to go alone, no motivation to organise to go with anyone & barely anyone asking me to go with them (because they go about as regularly as i do). i'm a pretty terrible player as consequence of never playing, but i enjoy the walk & chat that accompanies playing golf.

Yeah, thats the sense i get about golf. Its a nice relaxing enjoybale sport. Good way to start the day with some friends having a chat and enjoying the sunlight and nature around. A bit like fishing in a way, only less smelly and effort requiring a bit. My mates love fishing so we do that more often than not, but would really love to try out golf. Would probably suck though. Been thinking of getting a driver for the driving range but not sure where to look or what to look for.

I'm pretty sure that's just a myth that students tell themselves so they don't freak out at exam time. I mean, especially with something like an architecture or medical course where failing that class could kill someone.

Most Driving ranges, especially those associated with a golf course, have 'Demo days' where they get the latest release clubs and let everyon try them. Essentially you get to use $1,000 clubs for the price of a few golf balls.

You'll find there is a pro around who will try and sell you the club when your're done, but you can use him to get a good idea of what sort of club you sould go for. i.e. whether you'd prefer a steel or graphite shaft, how much 'give' you'd like in the club and the weight of the club-head.

I bought a new driver a few months ago, spent about $130. I was using Titelist Drivers at demo days and realied that I like a fairly flexible shaft and a flat club-head, then pretty much bought the cheapest driver that met that criteria :p

I only play socially, about once a month on average

The only downside to this is if your swing is bad and you damage the club :P

Well if your swing is destroying clubs, you should probably be on the market for some golf lessons, instead of a new a driver :p
