That sounds just like my dad :lol: He gets the tune completely wrong, and then mixes up all the words and it's just hilarious.

When I meet new people, one of their first questions is to ask how old I am, then they get close to having a cardiac arrest when I tell them I am 21.

And yes, that is exactly what my mum does. :lol: :lol: Except it makes me cringe.

:lol: I generally get mistaken to be older rather younger, but now I think people probably would guess me to be 18. I'm a terrible judge of ages.

WGMG: The MV game being on at the same time as the Swans v St Kilda game. Don't get to see the Swans in melb too often so I'm leaning towards choosing that option

I found out the other night that these two teams are playing a game in Wellington on ANZAC Day, worth going to see them??

If you've never seen an AFL game before, it'll be an experience for you.

To be fair, half the players don't know either.

my understanding of afl:

have to punch it to teammates if moving ball by hands. every 10 steps you have to bounce the ball on the ground (like basketball but more steps). if a dude catches a kick, he gets a free kick. middle goal is worth 6 or 7, two side goals worth 1. can score with any part of your body. an own goal is worth 1 for the opposing team. game commences with a big bounce that two people compete for, similar to basketball. if it goes out it's thrown in by a ref - similar to union. you can tackle, and jump on peoples backs to get higher to catch it.

i don't think it's much more hectic than that

Kiwichick, I reckon it'd be worth a look, it's a game with enough going on it that a neutral or casual observer can enjoy it. If you know any Aussies it might help to go with them in case you need anything explained though
