WGMG: How busy I've been at work. We had a staff cull but the owner didn't like any of the replacements we had lined up so it's been me and the VM working every shift with no other staff. Doing 60+ hour weeks has been killer. So glad I'm not salaried.

WAGMG: Have barely been on for the last 2 weeks and nothing in this place has changed. Still the same bullshit.

WGMG: My Nan died today, I'm fine but my 4 year old sister can't comprehend why she won't get to see her Nan any more and it truly is heartbreaking.

Ahhh that's rough mate, sorry to hear it. All the best to you, your sister and your family.

My condolences. I guess it's a bit better that it happens at that age then when she's a few years older and understands what's going on. The first time a child has to deal with understanding death is difficult.

WGMG: Being lactose intolerant. It just came out of nowhere, and so I keep trying to convince myself that it might just disappear again. However, eating a bowl of ice cream continues to prove to be a stupid decision.

I know exactly how you feel. I used to love ice cream, but now cant have the stuff. For me too, just came out of nowhere. Have to have lactose free milk now. No ice cream or anything like that.

I have a feeling this will only prove to be worse by the time it gets to summer, where I'll be more tempted to get ice creams/milkshakes, etc. It's not worth consuming products with lactose in them though, it takes ~3 days for the bloating to go away for me, and the stomach pain is really severe for at least 24hrs.

My missus is lactose intolerant. Her family buys that liddels milk by the case.

If she's around mine, or we go out for coffee, I know I can't stand too far behind her. :lol: It's worse when we're in bed asleep. On several occasions I've woken up choking, not being able to breath because she's farted in her sleep. :lol: :lol: :lol:

Because of that milk or because of normal milk or just in general??

It's really annoying because you can only buy the milk in litre containers that go off after about a week of opening them, so I only ever seem to get through about half of it. Not getting enough calcium ftl.

Have you tried it after a week? I don't use dairy, personally using almond milk which says use in 3-4 days. But despite taking me around 2 weeks to get through one it is still fine to the last drop. Granted almond milk is different, essentially just almond powder suspended in water which couldn't reasonably go bad in mere days, but still carries that use by. No idea how lactose-free milk fares though, never tried it. Sounds like a ploy to sell more to me though.

Yeah, I've tried it after that length of time and tbh it tastes and smells off. What's your opinion of almond milk? I've got some that is vanilla flavoured, but it remains unopened at the moment.

WGMG: I only have a year left on my degree and it's damn near impossible to get another part-time job. I'm so sick of the shithole I work at at the moment but nobody wants to hire somebody who potentially won't be sticking around for long. To add insult to injury the chances of me walking straight into a job straight after I get my degree are pretty slim anyway.

Welcome to the real world . You don't get anywhere unless you know someone . Hell my 2nd cousin is qualified in megatronics(robotics) and he is working for monash in a field he over qualified for . Plus these days people want "experienced' workers .
