I agree that it was stupid and the consequences were grave, but he's 15 FFS. I 1005 think he should be under house arrest and all sorts of crap... but 25 to life?!? That's a big thing to give a 15 year old moron who made a grave error of judgement.

The call said that he would shoot any police that came in, and I don't know about you... but i wouldn't be expecting armed men to burst through my door, my reaction of shock and confusion could easily be mistaken for a threat.

1:- you can't put kids in jail for life. It's primitive.

I hear what you're saying but Swat teams seem more military than police. You don't need the military to deal with a crazed lone gunman. The police reaction in Australia would be much more about damage limitation and being conservative. As well as probably negotiating. They would've worked out quickly it was a hoax.

In Australia atleast if you're 14 you are legally responsible for you're actions. Probably the same in America.

I've been in livestreams and seen that happen live. It's fucking scary, an armed squad of cops come in under the presumption that they're about to apprehend an armed criminal. What happens when mistakes are made and someone is shot?

I hope that sets an example.
