I've always been a dog person, only ever having dogs, but 2 years ago the mrs & I "compromised" and we got a cat :lol: but I have straight up fallen in love with the thing - it basically runs our house and is just the best. I still hate most other cats I meet though, but our one is just pure insanity and fun, and also most of the time will come to you if you call it. I can't imagine losing her, so I'm truly sorry for you guys m8

I'd have turfed him out. Said if you want to play games, go ahead, go play them in the fucking corridor. An all too common problem at the computer labs at UWS. One thing that RGMG is people who think it's OK to take a 3-course buffet in with them into the computer labs.

I'm talking about those (and it's often the Asian students) who not just bring their own lunch, but bring a whole bloody buffet to Uni. 2-weeks ago I was in the computer labs and this Asian chap sits down 2 computers next to me and pulls out 6 different Tupperware containers. He's re-heated the contents of a couple of them, 1 of which was fish, which proceeded to stink up the whole computer labs. There was his fish in sauce in one Tupperware container, veggies in another, rice in another, crackers in another, an assorted variety of fruit in another, and more sauce and seasoning in the last one, plus a rather large flask of green tea, of which he's poured into a mug, which he's dug out of the bottom of his bag. Jamie Oliver takes less equipment with him when he films cooking shows in the bloody outdoors. This chaps then proceeded to spread his buffet out around him, and eat it all with chopsticks, rather messily. I'm sorry, but if you're in the computer labs and you need to eat, take half an hour, go sit outside and eat. It's a computer lab where you do work, not bloody yum cha.

I've no problem if you're working and you're chowing down on a sandwich, or a bag of crisps, or something small that's not going to require cutlery, a waiter, and a bib.

:lol::lol::lol: this hit so close to home for me, have had it done to me in my computer room several times. One time there were 5 Asians who all brought a giant tupperware bowl each and shared the food - but that was cool because they offered me some and it was freaking delicious :lol:

No, it's not a whinge at cultural diversity. FTR I've seen just as many Caucasian students do it too. Just eat it in the appropriate areas. Computer labs are not the appropriate area to be sitting down to a full blown meal. Not only is it not the appropriate area to do so, it's unhygienic, and quite frankly nobody wants to be the next person to sit at that computer and have to deal with a greasy, slimy keyboard or desk. It's a lack of manners and a disrespect for property that isn't yours. You want to chow down to a dinner in front of your home PC, go ahead, just have the respect for others not to do it in a place where hundreds of people share equipment.

I have the same grouch against people who bring things like McDonalds or KFC onto public transport.

It's truly nauseating. Nothing worse than being stuck on a tube of farts to begin with, and some bloke chowing down on a Big Mac & fries. Even if they're on the top carriage you can smell it, and it lingers. So even if they've gotten off the train, the smell remains for hours after.
