Fuck, I don't know what to say. I'm just so sorry man.

So this isn't exactly grinding my gears, but it still sucks. My brother's mate broke his collarbone playing rugby against some Year 9's. Awful timing for him, because he was planning on spending the whole school holidays skating and surfing, neither of which he can do now.

Yo seriously how are conversations so hard for me

I'm so nervous I have to tell myself more than once to just say hi to someone on Facebook, then I feel so anxious when they don't respond.

I haven't actually added him (can't imagine my mum would be thrilled about me adding a 28 year old from Melbourne on Facey lol).

It's almost impossible for me to overthink things in those situations. I'm constantly afraid that what I've just said has scared off the other person, that they think I'm a weirdo, that I'm boring, etc. I know it's not true and that I'm being irrational, but even then that voice is still in the back of my head telling me "They haven't been active in 20 minutes? Probably because you were boring them, you idiot" and I start feeling like it's 50 degree with my heart racing everytime I go to pick up the phone and check Facebook because no matter whether or not there's that notification, I'll be worried. If they've responded, I'm going to have to think of a way to continue the conversation. If they haven't, I start stressing that I've bored them, I didn't say something good enough or that I've creeped them out. It's so much worse because I can talk to people just fine on here and some have even said that I'm one of their favourite posters, so why can't I do the same in real life or on Facebook?

I recently looked up some articles about what it's like to have social anxiety and the examples and symptoms that they listed fit me to a t. While it's nice to know that I'm not just a plain weirdo, that there's a name for what I'm feeling, that I'm not alone and that lots of people are going through the same thing, it still worried me that I'll only feel normal by taking medication, when I want a fix that will come from within.

Also, whenever I'm talking to people at school, I feel that I have to put on a different personality, for want of a better description, to join into conversations. How do I know that someone will want to be friends with me after getting to know the real me if I don't even let the real me show himself?

The worst thing is I know this is all totally irrational, but I can't stop these thoughts or these behaviours.

Also the girl I was talking to just before went offline half an hour ago and ten minutes before I responded to her last message, so obviously because I didn't respond to her previous message in time she's gotten bored and thinks I was ignoring her. I know that's not the case, but I still can't help but think that.

Feel like shit because I couldn't get any further than small talk and never got to have an actual conversation.

You probably feel more comfortable on here because at the end of the day no one knows who you are, so they can't judge you, and they can't do anything to you.

Medication won't "fix" you or change you. It might help with lessing the anxiety or decreasing negative thoughts, but it's still you who has to do the work to get better.

Don't get worked over that kinda stuff man, it doesn't help you in any way.

Regarding the anxiety stuff, you can go and see someone without your family knowing. I know you're young and your parents like to keep an eye on you (and who adds you on facebook), but there are specific medical services for teenagers that are anonymous if you want them to be.

I can personally vouch for pala being an awesome dude. He was with me in my hotel room while we drank beer and ate KFC till 7am on two different occasions and not once did he try to either a) have sex with me or b) sexually assault me.

WGMG: People that try and blame a whole religion for a minority's issues. Especially considering how we as a football forum always go on about how channel 7/9/10 blame the small minority for things such as flares and acts of violence (obviously those are completely different scenarios but you get what I mean about generalizing groups of people)

TBF though the FIFA Laws of the Game book doesn't actually ask for people to be murdered if they disagree with the rules or drink beers at games.

Not looking for a root, just wanna be m8s (doubt she's a chubby chaser)

It would really make things so much easier if I could just admit that I'm really awkward and I don't really have any experience in terms of actually chatting to people. But then she'd REALLY be creeped out by me :/

Get over it you dumb cunt, what's it got to do with where he's from?

Also, this is Australia, if you're so worried about where people are from and their impact on your daily life, why are you using American English?
