WGMG: All this whinging about no black actors being nominated. Will Smith's movie whilst important wasn't great to watch, Straight out of Compton was fucking terrible.

Make good movies or stop fucking complaining.

When I enrolled at Wollongong I found it fairly straight forward. Fill in a form with some stuff about who you are and what course you are doing. Give it to lady behind the desk. They then took my picture for the student card. Done.

The real nightmare was enrolling in tutorials, labs and workshops. Regularly they were either at 1:30am the night before starting at 8:30am the next day. Then when you arrive in the morning you find out this lab has been moved to 5:30pm yesterday, which now clashes with another subject which has only one timeslot choice for its lab/tutorial.

 Mine was the same. Main issue was the course enrolment system. It would crash because the uni wasn't smart enough to break the subject enrolments into groups. So you had literally every uni student trying to enrol into courses at once.

Scheduling was also shitty. In first year engineering we had a set course. Said course had a physics lecture 2 hours long. The first hour was in 1 building then we had to walk to the other side of campus for the 2nd hour. Such a joke. That lecture was at 8am. The tutorial was at 430pm. I was fortunate living 10mins from campus but not everyone was.

For course enrolment the main issues are:

- The University isn't smart enough to break enrolment into groups (i.e engineering courses 1 day, nursing on another) so literally thousands of people are trying to use the system at the same time.
- The system just won't log in (it's like logging into student email) because of the overload.
- Those fortunate enough to get in get the best time slots while the rest of us contemplated a mass shooting over having 3 lectures/tutes overlap because by the time we could get into the system the best spots had been taken.

It happened every semester for 4 years...........

The system or portal we used was fine as long as there were less than like 234563489572369 people trying to use it at once.

 So it was very large; we were cutting it down with a chainsaw and it was a struggle to cut it off fully. My boss had a go of it, while I took a break, looking the other way with my earmuffs on - then just at that moment it finally gives way and lands on me.

I'm sure you'll all be pleased to know that I lived to tell the tale - but I'm still picking out the spines.

- Server is fucked, too many people on at once
- I was told which subjects to take at an open day, yet the OFFICIAL Uni handbook tells me to take different subjects to satisfy the requirements of my course
- Many friends struggling to even log in
- The timetabling system makes no sense
- There's no information for Jaffy's

Just keep trying.
I am in my last year of uni. I study online, this is why I am here so much as I have minimal human contact during the days. So I will be 37 with no work experience in my field. TBH I felt that without study it would be impossible to get a job as good as the one I had, or even at all if I ever want to live somewhere else.

You should start going on the footy forums, maybe you could make some contacts.

You're gonna have to elaborate. How did this happen? What size was the cactus? Were you hurt?

The people deserve to know.

In the space of like 12 months, you've gone from being a very angry teenager to being a top quality poster.

I remember the days when he was one of the biggest trolls on the forum

Snubbed for biggest improver award last year. Definitely a hot early favourite for this year IMO.

WGMG: Enrolling in uni is a fucking nightmare.

 So it wasn't just my uni that was useless then?

We had several lectures set up so that we would have the first hour in one room, everyone would pack up and then walk to the room next door for the second half of the lecture. The price the engineering department paid for not owning any lecture theatres in the uni.

Worst schedule I ever had was an hour long workshop for engineering design at 7:30am in the morning with a two hour tutorial at 6:30pm that night. Only time slots available and no other subjects in between. I knew I wouldn't be coming back if I left uni inbetween. They were a long 10 hours to wait each week. The lectures for the that weeks subject matter was also the useless time of 8:30am Friday the next morning after all the work has been done.
