I feel I am somewhat qualified to comment, given that it could well be members of my own family in that photo, who died in the Holocaust some time between 1941 and 1943 in exactly that kind of setting. It sickens me to see a picture like that, but curiously while I find the idea to using it as subject for a joke incredibly stupid and frankly unfunny, I am certainly not offended by it, just as I wasn't by Bozza's "Nazi salute". Both are a failed attempt at being funny, that's all. Honestly, what happened was such a massive thing that a single "joke" ins't going to make any difference. And most people just don't find it funny anyway. But I don;t believe it was posted with any malice, it just...well...fails as a joke.
