Melbourne Heart media mogul set to depart.

Heart have had the worst media interaction, I have always detested their official website.

Derby summary

Great start to the season both in terms of result and performance. Tactically we seemed spot on and gave the Victory defence no relief all night. We really should've had the game sewn up well before Archie skied his 90th min attempt.

Was impressed by Garcia (to think he's played most his career as a winger) and Fred. Dmac was super and has really wiped any thought that we'll miss Babalj... great business for $500k. Was impressed by Williams running but his finishing will need a bit more work. Marrone and Behich were both able to get further forward mainly because the forward press put on by those further upfield but they will be exposed every so often throughout the year. Colosimo and Gerhardt looked solid enough for a new partnership. Bolton... make the easy look hard and the hard look easy.

Hope the win transfers into good numbers for next week... which we absolutely MUST put in a great performance and WIN. Sick of our home record of the past few seasons. Sadly we've got a bad record of backing up great away results with poor home games.

All in all, great to get one over the Dockers.
P7 W3 D3 L1.

Dockers? I'm assuming Wanchors, but i'll wait for clarification first :P

Speaking of clarification, WTF was the meaning behind the sign held up by Yarraside before the game. Nobody could make any sense of it in the area I was sitting (Heart or Victory fans) in the end it just came across as embarrassing.

They are more than happy to call us Morwell on the basis of one match it's onlyfair we call them Dockers on the basis of part-time residency. The factit took Fremantle ages to come to grips withthe western derby just makes the name that little more fitting imo.

As for the banner I have no idea... what about the puff piece they had play on the club and it's 'rich' (7 year) history before the match... an embarassing night to be a Victory fan in more ways than one. It was nice they farewelled their past-players but I know for a fact that it was very hastily arranged - one player had had no contact with the club for months until the week before.

Heart launches mobile fan app

Tuesday, 23 October 2012 9:51 AM

Melbourne Heart FC is pleased to announce its new mobile phone app ‘Heart Fan’, which was launched last week, has been met with great enthusiasm by supporters and fans.

The app allows fans to 'Head Hunt' and attract new members to the Club and grow the Heart by supporting community through referrals and sharing on social media.

Heart Fan can be downloaded though iTunes and is designed for you to track our member tally, check in at games, earn points, put your name onto the new Kappa Heart jersey plus much more.

Importantly, the app was developed on the back of our No.12 Best Fan competition, which encourages our members to play their part each month in our competition to find out top member for the season.

Alex Yianni, the creator, worked with the club to produce Heart Fan.

“Melbourne Heart really opens up to its members and allows them to take control of the club’s future. It’s refreshing to be part of the engaging competition," Alex said.

Click to download the app here and help build the future of the club.

So I noticed last night 'I See Red' was played after the goals. Was last night the first time? Was this a one-off thing/trial/permanent move?

The Melbourne Heart FC Drinking game:

1 shot for every time the commentators refer to ‘that goal’ by John Aloisi
1 shot for every Colosimo stuff up
1 shot for every poor cross
1 shot for every time they over pass the ball trying to find the striker when he’s being marked by 3 defenders and a goalie
1 shot for every time Hoffman/Grella gets a yellow card (used to be the Wayne Srhoj rule)
1 shot for every Gerhardt own goal
1 shot for Matt Thompson starting
1 shot for Matt Thompson or Colosimo being referred to as ‘experienced’
1 shot for David Williams shooting low to the left
1 shot for every game Fred comes off injured
1 shot for every ‘quick free kick’ going back to a defender
1 shot for every unused substitution
1 shot if the team shuts down at the 70th minute
1 bottle if Steven Gray gets a start

Or alternatively one shot for every shot on goal – but then you would go home dry every game…

Touche! This one is my favourite:
- 1 shot for every time Hoffman/Grella gets a yellow card (used to be the Wayne Srhoj rule)
You would've had 11 shots in our first season and eight last season. Hoffman's already on four a third of the way through this season, we could be looking at changing the "Srhoj Rule" to the "Hoffman Rule" very quickly!

Let's hope he gets another yellow card taking Burns out of the game this week! lol

From the world of twitter:

Ray Gatt‏@Gatty54

Also hearing Aziz Behich could be off overseas in January transfer window and Sam Mitchinson a target for western Sydney and Wellington

Interesting. With Mitchinson performing well in Aziz's place recently, we at least have some depth there. If we're getting offers for Aziz, we can tie up Mitchinson to a senior contract. We've got the places available. Losing both would be terrible! But I'd say we should be able to avoid that.

Aziz has been linked to an overseas move since pre-season so I guess it's only a matter of time.

IIRC I think it was Fenerbahce who wanted him? At the time we were worried that his Turkish ties would see him play for Turkey, but luckily he got some Socceroos airtime and performed well so that's good.

The EAFF Cup qualifiers count as non-friendly matches yeah? Coz my understanding is that as long as they play in a FIFA sanctioned game for a National Team, it ties them up to that country, but friendlies don't mean much...?

I thought it was Besiktas, but I could be wrong. I wouldn't worry about needing to lock in Aziz. If he's not locked in now, the only reason he'll play for Turkey is if he's not good enough for the Socceroos.

You right, it is Besiktas.

Its good that Babalj and Behich both got their NT call ups.

Certainly has been a good production line so far for the club, and hopefully this will continue into the future.

My bad, it was Besiktas.

Heart had more players in the East Asian qualies than any other A-League club. Add Babalj to the mix and that makes four! I'm guessing, if he was still at Heart, he still would've received a call-up!

Yeah, if Aziz leaves he'd have done well for the clib... a pleayer Victory off-leaded turns out to be one of our more consistent performers and leaves us with a decent pay-off. So long as there is a Minchinson etc inthe waiting no heart fan would deny him and only harbour best wishes on his career development.

If he does then there is more we need to thank JvS for... so far he's made over $1.6m for the club in transfers.

Behich would probably have to be the best story of all the players we've given an opportunity to. He was playing in the VPL and basically on the scrap heap. Came in as an injury replacement in a new position which he made his own. Now has a Socceroo cap, is still developing, and has a big future ahead of him I think.

Thanks mate. It would've been good if it was earlier so we could hear about which players (if any) we might be signing during the January transfer window or at least be given the opportunity to express our views of which players the fans would like to see made an offer to with enough time to make that offer :? not that they'd listen, just would've been nice.
