Already at 5,686! That's 0.3% shy of a 20% increase on this time last year's membership count =d>

Melbourne Heart FC are pleased to have announced a new three-year deal with principal partner Westpac and as a result, Westpac is giving Melbourne Heart FC members a fantastic merchandise offer.
As an added benefit of the Westpac partnership announcement, Westpac are kindly backing a merchandise discount on 2012-13 Kappa home and away on-field apparel for only $25.
This offer will start from the membership tent at tonight’s game against Oakleigh Canons.
The offer applies to existing 2013-14 Melbourne Heart FC members, who can buy a 2012-13 Red and White home jersey for $25, or a 2012-13 away jersey, also for $25.
Members will have to use their online account username and password to access the discount at our Club Shop.
Additionally, there will be limited sizes in stock available and all online orders will be fulfilled by Friday 27 September.
Weren't all the South supporters jumping up and down saying back in like July that Westpac weren't going to sign back on with the club, and using that as backup to say the club should be replaced? And now they increase the deal and add 3 years? Can't trust a thing the South supporters say  Whilst I'm here, congrats to you boys down there and cannot wait for our match up in November I'm booking flights and the rest soon, really hope you guys have some success this year and crack that magic 10k barrier, members numbers looking really good now though :) Edited by 4wanderer4: 9/10/2013 02:06:20 PM

Are SBS way off the mark again?? A few days before the season starts and a club sells up? Can't see it but who knows.
Maybe a new investor has been added and wires have been mixed up in the rumour?
Better not be SMFC at it again :)

The club has done very well with memberships this season, considering our poor showing last season. Looking forward to seeing Sydney FC come to AAMI. I reckon Sydney have recruited well for this season, and Sydney and Heart always have entertaining games filled with goals (perhaps too many).

Haha nope :) they announced the name Wanderers a little while after I joined and made this account, and now I don't know how to change my username  a bit funny really. @Murfy1 don't bullshit me! I remember the 4-1 where we looked absolutely pathetic, quite possibly worst home match I've ever had them misfortune of being present for. Lets hope its a touch more competitive than that!

Last season honours were even, a draw and a win each. I vividly remember the Heart defence capitulating when Sydney won, conceding 2 goals in the last several minutes (it would of been our first win outside of Victoria for a long time. That loss incredibly sucked).
I'm tipping competitive matches, where attackers instead of defenders star.

Well in some better news after Australia's dreadful performance it was good to see Mifud score for Malta overnight in his 4-1 defeat to the Czechs. He's a player that can go either way really (much like Kewell), he definitely has some talent but its just a matter of whether he can find his form in the A-League and really make an impact.

For instance I renewed my son's membership but with so many 7:30pm (which we all know is nearer 7:50pm) kick-offs he won't be attendaning many matches. There would be a number of other kids memberships in this figure... don't get me wrong it's going upward - and that's great but I'm not sure we can anticipate 24% increase in attendances on the strength of this... Wins will improve attendances... and in Kisnorbo and Mifsud we might find ourselves in a better chance of them too!

Your own club and the BWB sold the rest of your active out. Great showing between the tarps the other night.
Yarraside is the only voice in Melbourne now.

Quote:MELBOURNE Heart defender Patrick Kisnorbo has avoided serious injury but is set to miss at least a fortnight with cartilage damage to his right knee.
Heart officials hope Kisnorbo won’t require an arthroscopy after he limped off in the 52nd minute of the 1-0 away loss to Perth Glory on Sunday.
Kisnorbo’s knee buckled, allowing Jamie Maclaren through to score the winning goal, before he was replaced by Patrick Gerhardt.
Harry Kewell, who missed the match with whiplash, will rejoin teammates at training this week but Heart coach John Aloisi said the veteran was no certainty to face Brisbane Roar at Suncorp Stadium on Sunday.
Patrick Kisnorbo's knee injury isn't as bad as first feared. Heart is in recovery mode after the Perth game, with right back Jason Hoffman suffering heatstroke after the game, during which temperatures reached 26C. He was vomiting before and during the red-eye flight back to Melbourne, but Aloisi said Hoffman and the others who struggled with the heat would be ready for the Roar clash.
"The boys are still recovering from the trip, but there is a good seven-day turnaround for Brisbane," Aloisi said.
"After the game he (Hoffman) started feeling dizzy as he came into the rooms and had blurry vision. Then at dinner he started throwing up and then on the plane he kept vomiting.
"He felt better when we got back to Melbourne, so we ¬expect him to be right, even though he may take a few ¬extra days to recover."
Kewell began individual training last week after being injured in the Round 1 draw with Melbourne Victory. Marquee player Orlando Engelaar has started his slow recovery after fracturing his leg in pre-season.
"Harry should start training with the main group soon and we’ll see how he pulls up," Aloisi said. "If he’s any chance of playing, we’d love to have him for Brisbane.
"His presence makes a big difference but, if not Roar, we’re pretty sure he’ll be right for Western Sydney (Friday week).
"Orlando is starting to do some exercise now. He’s started to walk on (an anti-gravity treadmill)" http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/football/patrick-kisnorbo-avoids-serious-injury-out-for-fortnight-with-knee-cartilage-damage/story-fnibbvjo-1226748517902Good news about Kisnorbo and Kewell. Figured Kisnorbo was going to be out for a few months like most knee injuries. And finally it will be nice to have a proper 10 in the midfield. Kewell and Mifsud will be a great pair imo. Also off topic, but the OP needs a bit of a touch up. Just a little bit outdated

[posted in another thread but thought it was relevant to transplant here also]
Got to say the Aloisi out brigade are not doing themselves or the club any favours.
I'm as frustrated as anyone watching us painfully blow opportunities to grow the club and garner some success but a change of coach is not going to be what we need right now.
We have had a really good start to the season considering the changeover of personnel and the quality of opposition we've faced (4 of top 5 with Wanderers to come) with three away matches so far. If people expected more than a couple of points given where we at last season then they are more delusional than what they claim Aloisi to be.
I'm not an apologist, I believe Aloisi does need to pull his finger out and to keep the wolves at bay he'll need a draw minimum this coming Friday - which in itself is a tough ask. The season is long and we are only 4 games in. We were never going to be a title contender for the Premiers plate based on where we finished last year but we can make finals and we can earn a home final and from there you are only one result away from the GF - should that be a derby then it's essentially an even money bet.
I'm disappointed that we've missed opportunities and that we are misfiring but get behind your team. Anyone can rant and ask for the coaches head but it'll be much more beneficial for the club and the team for us to show some real mettle...
I'll be there Friday and I hope we can break our duck. Get our fist win of the season and against the Premiers of last season no less.
Come on you boys in red!
