Our squad for the clash on against Sydney Fc should be so etching like this hopefully Redmayne Walker, Wielaert, Gerhardt(if Kisnorbo hasn't recovered), Behich Murdocca, Retre Mauk Gol Gol, Kalmar/Mifsud, Williams Bench: Velaphi, Vrankovic, Ramsey, Mate, Kalmar/Mifsud Not a huge fan of Mifsud at the moment, supposedly haven't seen his true potential, so ill give him somewhat the benefit of the doubt, I'm a huge fan Of Kalmars and believe should he string some games together we can see him at his best, guy can actually shoot and can link well with other midfielders. must win game Edited by apillay12: 12/11/2013 12:59:54 AM

Supposedly he's not too fit at the moment, so I would start either him or Mauk, and switch them with a sub. Gol Gol is great for about 30 minutes in a match and then he either gets tired, bored, constipated I don't know but he gets seriously lazy, so I would prefer him off the bench. I also wouldn't mind Vrankovic getting a go with Wielaert. Gerhardt is great when he's defending, but he gets caught up field too often (probably due to him being a midfielder). So I would like to see something like: Redmayne Walker, Wielaert, Vrankovic, Behich Murdocca, Retre/Gerhardt Mauk/Kalmar Williams, Mifsud, Ramsay with a bench of Retre/Gerhardt, Mauk/Kalmar, Mebrahtu, Dugandzic, Velaphi. But most importantly we need to have more players make runs into the box, and take advantage of counter-attack opportunites.

Your own club and the BWB sold the rest of your active out. Great showing between the tarps the other night.
Yarraside is the only voice in Melbourne now.

According to Foxsports Heart are being sold to an Asian consortium, that might be why JA is not sacked yet. http://au.fourfourtwo.com/forums/default.aspx?g=posts&t=88442

He is on $250K salary for being the CEO...the buck must stop with this guy cause above him are the board. Delivered nothing apart from a dwindling fan base and on field bunch of losers that can't buy a win...20 games now without a win and getting close to 2 years without a win outside of Victoria...

Kisnorbo red card killed us , any hope we had of any result vanished with the Mifsud sub , the only bloke who had any chance of troubling the victory backs was taken off in favour of a bloke who hasn't played a full game on 18 months. Thanks for ur efforts JA surely your days are numbered. , Asian takeover cannot come quick enough

Aha ha, from facebook:
The mhfcsupporters.com forum is currently down due to an issue at the datacenter. There isn't much we can do at the moment but wait as it's out of our control. We are hopeful that the forum will be up and running again shortly.

I just hope JVS throws in some youth, mix things up a bit and rest some underperformers.

Is Walker away with the national youth team? Can't believe Hoffman keeps getting a run.

Heart have played well enough to win before last night's game.
They've just been profligate around goal.

A16Man wrote:Is Walker away with the national youth team? Can't believe Hoffman keeps getting a run. I can't believe I am going to say this, but Hoffman has actually been one of the better players this year IMHO. I think it says more about the rest of the team though at times, but hes certainly showing signs of improvement. He has a long way to go to be able to play there, but he handled the position well last night, and has taken some steps to getting higher up the park to be an option out wide up near the attacking 3rd. Engelaar did a decent job last night when he came on, with composed play important particularly later in the match when we usually struggle to hold a lead (in the rare times when we are ahead that is). He has sitting back deeper at times though due to his lack of match practice though which did cause a few issues as Newcastle pushed to get back into the game. Overall, was impressed by the one touch play that has been missing this year. Great performance by HK in particular kept things moving along. Mate was good but still not yet at a level he can be. He missed a few opportunities last night which hopefully this match will bring him more confidence for. Those 2 goals were composed finishing that has been lacking. Finally, Massimo is a player that works so hard for the team, and you could see he was enjoying the game. Even after he needed his whole head covered in bandages he was still out there creating options and being positive. Edited by heart_fan: 18/1/2014 03:33:31 PM

Though JVS has said before that if he had two players, one 30 and one youth, if they are relatively the same, he would rather playthe youth becuase they are more likely to improve. Let's see what happens.

They've just been profligate around goal. True, but the style of play was not that great and the centre midfield may as not been there, in bp and bpo.
