You might delude youself that you've had some sort of victory right now, but that thorn in your side is only going to get bigger. Whatever the colours or name, you'll probably need to get used to drubbings like the last one. While your rival is going places, you might need to concern yourself with the fact that your glory days seem a long time ago now and your club only manages to tread water and stagnate. just curious from heart fans is there a compromise to your home kit that you could accept? i quite like the kit that woman is wearing, melbourne heart was originally meant to be a traditional football club and that never really worked out but do you think city will bring a more traditional football club vibe to the club? do you think the crowds will be better for heart/city next season? just curious what heart fans think because i want your club to be strong because i want the A-league to be strong City sounds like a much more traditional name than Heart so i am very happy with that change

If the name and the colours change against the wishes of the majority of Heart fans and away from the colours of the City of Melbourne ironically then it won't feel like our club. CFG will have killed our club, the new franchise can play in whatever corporate colours it likes.

And rather than change right to sky blue and ditch the red and white you went for a partial look such as the jersey of the lady on the far left. So, do YOU come with the kit? In all seriousness, I always thought this might be the obvious way to go. Although, the colours do seem a bit, well, yuk.

You guys were so mediocre that you had to be sold before going down the toilet while we have managed to get finals & play ACL (again) even after the FFA stole our coach & the club declared war on its fans. We are a bit stronger than people think, while your club is now failed and dead after only 4 years

Manchester City await fate as Uefa's financial rules kick in. In their 2012-13 accounts, City registered £47m of income but gave little clue to where it came from. There are reports that £24m of it was generated by the sale of player image rights to an external company. The remainder apparently came from the sale of commercial services and scouting information to Manchester City Ladies FC, Australian side Melbourne Heart and MLS team New York City FC, which City also own. http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/27041079

Your new team/incarnation need a LB? Could they snap up this guy from Man City via some kind of loan arrangement? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Razak_Nuhu

I'd say after a striker (and the club probably needs 2 to 3 new strikers IMO), LB is the most important position Heart need to strengthen in. Then Heart could use a class (marquee) playmaker/no 10. I reckon Heart will end up using a VISA spot on a LB, as there are next to no good Australian options available out there. Nuhu looks like a handy LB, and Heart would need a LB that can get forward and put good balls into the box, like him. So he could be a sensible loan signing, and I'd be surprised if Heart didn't get 1 or possibly 2 Man City youth players on loan. The only issue with getting a player like Nuhu on loan though is that there's a fairly high chance he'd leave the club after his 1 season loan is up, and because it's not ideal to change defenders every season, it might be better for the club to sign a LB that can remain at the club for multiple seasons. The LB spot is a real dilemma, and it'll be interesting and illuminating to see what solution Melbourne Heart with its new ownership come up with.
