I believe they managed third not last year but the year before.

Since the NSL teams like Olympic , wolves and Marconi have joined it they havent won it yet. They did win the NSL around 2001. (and once in the 80s). Im sure if my memory is wrong I will be corrected pretty quickly. No team, ex NSL or other, has managed to dominate the NSWPL and prove that they are of a higher quality. Olympic included.

They have won 1 Johnny Warren Cup. I think I have a photo from there club somewhere:

Sydney United are the only team who has really dominated the NSWPL in a season out of the clubs from the former NSL. They won the minor premiership by 7 points last year and showed they were the best team in the competition.

They are also the only team from the former NSL to win the NSWPL. Wollongong won it in 2008 but that's not Wollongong Wolves since the Wolves folded due to financial reasons.

Olympic don't play in an Australian league. They play in a state based league (although isn't it more a Sydney + a couple league) and thus should be in Grassroots.

mate it's falling apart. The Bulldogs can't play there because of it's shit condition. They would love to but it need s serious renovations. It's the best in the NSWPL in terms of capacity. But capacity doesn't mean anything in the NSWPL when every team could use a 5k seater and still wouldn't fill it.

There are better stadiums in the NSWPL.

That is true. But since the demise of the NSL we are talking about.

Sydney United also beat Blacktown 4-0 in a GF IIRC. Remember that day fondly.:p :p

Also PAOKTZI

If Olympic are going to take over the world I think they may need their own stadium. Not a ground shared with a Rugby League club who see it only good for a training ground.

King Tom has 8,000 seat capacity, Full Toilet facilities, parking and corporate box facilities and so do numerous other grounds in the comp.

Also thought this was interesting:
Wikipedia wrote:
Due to the BSG's dilapidated state, the "Back to Belmore" campaign was launched in August 2005 with the protest mainly aimed at procuring Federal Government funding to upgrade Belmore Sports Ground as a top-class sporting facility and the Canterbury-Bankstown area's premier sporting venue, with a view of the Canterbury Bulldogs staging a select number of their NRL home games at their traditional home ground in the long-term future.

Key word there being DILAPIDATED. Meaning run down and generally falling apart. Now no work has been done on the park so it is still in the same state therefore still DILAPIDATED. So how can the supposed best ground in the NSWPL be a ground that is run down and dilapidated when there are grounds in the comp that are in better shape.

The fact that the article is from 5 years ago is irrelevant because the ground is still in the same dilapidated state. has not been fixed at all in 5 years because the govt hasn't given anyone any money for it's repairs.

So if you're proud of playing in a dilapidated run down old stadium that's your choice. Just don't call it the best stadium in the league when it's clearly not.

considering the size of the crowds that turn up for the matches Manly or Eagles probably have the best. But if you were getting crowds of 10K, King Tom is better.

Tell me PAOKTZI which one of Sydney Olympics former grounds is your favourite:
- Leichhardt Oval
- Toyota Park
- North Sydney Oval
- OKI-Jubilee Stadium
- Belmore Sports Ground

Jeez you guys slutted yourselves around didn't you. Everywhere in Sydney North South East and West.

What about all youre different names:
- Pan Hellenic Soccer Club
- UTS Sydney Olympic
- Olympic Sharks
- Sydney Olympic

So much change for such a big club. Usually big clubs are a lot more stable.
