There's a difference between watching football and supporting a club.

I follow the club because they are my club. I grew up watching and supporting the club and hopefully my kids will too one day. Nothing to do with the "entertainment value". If I was after entertainment I'd go to the movies or something. If I wanted to be entertained by football I'd watch the best leagues in the world as a neutral. I wouldnt be at State League games week in, week out. I definitely wouldnt go through the heartbreak of two grand final losses and seeing my club go from Premiers to wooden spooners due to the Parra Power saga.

If my club is not there then my interest in local football would be non-existant.

I dont expect people like yourself to understand that.

I'm exactly the same. I don't follow United because of their entertainment factor. I follow them because they are my club and have ben since I was a kid. They will continue to be my club for years to come. I follow them because of the connection I have with them that goes back to when the club was first created.

And Edensor2176 mentioned the Parra Power saga. Once you go through something like that as a fan you feel even more connected to the club. Nothing like that has ever happened to a club before so only United fans can really know how that feels.

I can't believe i just read 3 pages of that bullshit. To go back on topic, Mayora is a class player and should be playing in the HAL. He is one of a very select few players atm in the NSWPL who can successfully make the step up. Hopefully, he has a great season and gets a contract, if not, I don't mind if he comes back to Olympic :d

Don't think they are going to. I doubt I would be a paying member of a replacement club to AUFC, but I would probably attend their games as I enjoy the HAL.

As I said I find it amusing to think that you would just stop being a part of football just because your club folded.

What has support for my football club got to do with emotional issues?

Unlike yourself, I dont jump from club to club just through convenience. If the club I grew up supporting ceases to exist then I no longer have a need to follow club football.

It's pretty simple

jump from club to club eh? Lets see, MUFC (still a supporter), Adelaide City (was only ever a potential supporter - could not connect with the club), AUFC (still a supporter)... nope can't see how I have jumped from club to club...

If AUFC were to shut up shop tomorrow youd jump on the next side to come along, right?

That was not the reason they did not join the HAL, they failed to meet the criteria put out by the FFA in order to join the comp.

What racist stance? Do you even understand what you are saying? Is it racist to state that clubs that enter the HAL must have broad based appeal across their ctachment area? Or is it racist to say we are only interested in having supporters of a greek background attend the club?

You don't think your stance might be slightly racist solympic?
AS racist or perhaps MORE racist than any clear out at the end of the NSL.
The FFA's stance that clubs should be for all races as opposed to your's that clubs should be for one race doesn't really back up your accusations.

Wake up sunshine...

You are the reason your club is now playing state league, and you are the type of fan that will stop respectable clubs from the old era ever being allowed to play top flight football in this country again, which really is a shame but of course you have no one to blame but yourself.

So don't whine on and on in your little threads about a "Revolution" because it is never going to happen until you and your little "ULTRA" fuck friends grow the fuck up.

These KIDS that talk about new dawners are all fucking 16!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They weren't even sperms when these clubs were kicking around in the NSL hey days. THEY ARE THE BANDWAGONERS dont forget this. And all the little minions they hope to bring along to their state league games will be bandwagoners too by their definition.

It is actually funny and that's why I only have scorn now for some of these people on here. They are either incredibly stupid or just incredibly misguided. They can't see that with them as spokepersons for their clubs they will not get 1 single serious football person along to the ground. Maybe another 10 snotty nosed pipsqueeks that pretend to be 'ULTRAS' (ahahahaa god that makes me laugh when they use that word) but they are just causing people to more and more hate some of these clubs. Clubs that used to be respected even by a-league followers for their history. Their history was great but if these kids are their futures then god help them all.

Oh and I also love how a "New Dawner" is anyone who started following the game since 2005. So the fact that my son and daughter where both born after 2005 makes them "New Dawners" too. People who think the world suffered a massive division in 2005 which seperated the population into two distinct groups of football fans make me laugh, why to have a fishbowl of a paradigm.

I find it amusing that you believe that you would cease to be involved in football if your club was to fold. Good to hear, you are obviously a well balanced individual with no clear emotional issues...

As for solympic, once again mate with the epic fail. If you want to know where people work just ask them. And in case you haven't figured it out yet KA works for Haymarket - you know the people who publish 442 here in Australia? Or is that to big a leap for you to make...

Way to grow the game in Australia, mate. Awesome.

That's the elitist nonsense that helped kill off the NSL and held back the game for decades.

But I'm sure that sneering comment has made you an absolute hero among your mates at Sydney United, eh?

Football fans pre- and post-2005 are all football fans - that's the only thing that's important.

Grow the game in Australia?

Some of us support our club, not "the game"

I dont support football as a sport. I support my club and only my club.

If my club was to die tomorrow, football would die with it.

A foreign concept for most, as youd just pick up where you left off with the next franchise that jumped onboard. Each to their own and all that.
