D-Day here for Ballarat Red Devils players

TODAY is D-Day for up to 10 players as the Haymes Ballarat Red Devils finalise their playing list for the 2010 State League Two season.
With some 58 players trying out over the 12 weeks so far of the pre-season, the football department, headed by new coach Dale Harris must settle on the 36 players that he hopes will provide the club with
its best chance this season.
With summer signings Leigh Sissons and Samo Winch from England, and returning defender Michael Leslie, the Reds are aiming at a top-four finish.
With about 25 players picking themselves, the remaining dozen spots will be up for grabs and some hard decisions will have to be made. Harris believes this is now a necessary part of the process of becoming
a force in the Victorian soccer landscape.
"In addition to our 2009 squad we invited a further 20 of the region's best youth players to trial with the club this pre-season," Harris said.
"We also identified and recruited five senior players whom we believe will add to the depth of talent at the club and give us our best opportunity to win the championship in 2010."
A few young players to impress so far are Daniel Tinker, Charlie King, Nick Hanson, Michael Trigger, Kyran Taylor and Vinny Cotronea.
The Reds will also be looking for Paul McClounan, Simon Murphy, Ady Curtain, Marcus Lynch and David King to make the step up to the next level.
