Good on him I say. I was thoroughly surprised last year reading for the first time that he played for AC Milan after his 2006 performance (Though I guess international appearances aren't everything).

Though, I would prefer ANY Australian player to take up coaching after their career is done and dusted as a player.

Nothing but respect for Spider. Absolute legend.

If he has joined the board (he has been at every home game this season) then it can only be a positive for Sydney United and football in NSW

yeah, what he said.

The exposure is still bugger all, and the crowds are lousy, but at least these clubs are making an effort and a few of their old players are coming back to help out in some way.

Kalac earned over 50 caps for Austalia despite the fact he was of the same era/age as our two greatest keepers, usually earning caps when the others couldnt be bothered or get released from their clubs to play. He also played for AC MILAN for christ sake. You judge him by one lousy game (which Guuss would not have considered him for if he wasnt any good) and a club dummy spit? By the same logic you could condemn Schwarzer and Kewell who have also had the ocasional bad game and had dummy spits with their clubs at some stage.
