Nick Carle could be heading to Perth in a move that would confirm Perth as a genuine prospect ahead of the 2010-2011 season. After recently acquiring legend Robbie Fowler Perth would have a near unstoppable offense with the Socceroo providing the balls to the Footballing great. However with Mile Sterjovski as the current Australian Marquee and Glory's squad already full any move would require Adriano Pellegrino being bought by Motherwell - a move seeming inevitable with glory making it clear they are pursuing Carle - and Either Carle or Sterj taking a big pay cut. However the prospect of playing in the squad with the most European experience may be a good way for Carle to kick start a stalled career so Sage and Mitchell are holding out some hope of a move for the ex Newcastle player.

Quote:
PERTH Glory coach David Mitchell says new signing Robbie Fowler is the man who can help awaken the sleeping giant and give the West Australian club a great shot at winning next season's title.

After six weeks of speculation, Perth owner Tony Sage yesterday proudly revealed his club had lured the former England and Liverpool striker from under the nose of A-League champion Sydney FC as its marquee player.

And it might not stop there, as Mitchell declared Glory is also

interested in signing Sky Blues target and Socceroo attacking midfielder Nicky Carle.

It is a move sure to cause concern among Sydney officials desperate to rebuild the squad following the loss through retirement and transfer of at least five players.
