You'd think he'd be a definite starter... But it is Sterj's decision and I suppose we must congratulate him on a stellar career in the green and gold.

Really had a lot of chances to "show himself", was subbed early a couple of times, was poor in last match, knew then he was gone. Just not good enough, but then neither are about another dozen in the list either.

He'll be back as a domestic based socceroo probably. He's one of the more tallented players in the league and having him at our disposal for those games is a massive asset, even if he isn't in the same rich form he was in four years ago.

Mile sounded rather dignified, I did not detect any long-distance dummy-spit. I actually do not think he would have wanted to hang around till the Asian Cup - that would be the time to use younger players anyway. And his best times were behind him - he did a lot of good work in the WC 2006 game against Italy, when Kewell and Emerton were not available; how many still remember his pin-point crosses from the wing, waiting for somebody to collect them? Thanks for years of quiet, unassuming hard work, Mile. Good call and enjoy the rest of the career at home.

Anonanimal and Bearinator - you two are clearly retarded. If you saw the interview you'd know he said it very calmly and has clearly accepted that he wasn't good enough. Idiots like you ruin this forum I swear. Also, maybe he's just letting the next generation of Socceroos come through and have their chance?

some of you people are tossers. He's done a lot more than some of you, and indeed probably me, will ever do. Where's the temper tantrum? Looking at what he's said, he seems to be accepting reality without a problem. Good on him for making the right decision, he's done very well for us over the years, and he should have a good finish to his career at Perth.

What a sook. There is no point throwing a temper tantrum Mile. The Socceroos don't need you. Have far better options. It's like saying 'I quit' after the boss tells you that you're fired.

Well done Sterj. Not the greatest player, but gave 100% every time he wore the Socceroos shirt and seems like a classy guy when interviewed - unlike the yobs, from other football codes.

Well done Sterjovski, you've definitely made the right decision at the best time possible. All the best with Perth Glory! What do you think about the FourFourTwo article Sterjovski Calls Time On Roos? MILE Sterjovski has called time on his international career with the Socceroos after the Perth Glory man today failed to make Pim Verbeek's squad for the World Cup.Have your say.
