The Olympic Ultras have gone under a minor revamp in organization. Under this revamp we have established the foundation of our group, as well as our mission goals and views on Sydney Olympic FC, and our role in the Australian football landscape.
It is undeniable the great history, tradition and culture that the Club we support possesses. However, due to the launch of the A-league and the demise of the old National Soccer League, our Club’s position and its role new in Australian football has been put to question, as well as an established and active supporters group.
The Olympic Ultras have started off strong given the circumstances and the level of football which Sydney Olympic are playing. The group has had a rollercoaster ride of experiences both on and off the 'pitch', for example, our performance against Blacktown, away matches and the launch of an official site are all good examples.
The Ultras wish to clear up a few misconceptions out in the footballing community. We are not against the A-league and all dream of a Sydney Olympic playing top flight football. While the time may not be right to realise this dream, aspirations for a cup competition and perhaps a second tier league seem more achievable.
We whole heartedly acknowledge the A-league is here to stay, and understand Sydney Olympics current role in the NSW Premier League is to help act as a feeder to the A-league in producing quality players. However, this does not hinder our aspirations in supporting our Club actively in any given chance we are presented. Although small in numbers, we plan to attend all Home games, and as many Away games as possible.
We have plans to grow slowly over the course of the coming years and to be one of the most dominant supporters in Australia. We are only a small and active group, but are a tight unit, and we will achieve our goals.

I am hoping that press release will help ease and reverse some of the damage that has been put on the image of Sydney Olympic FC.

Yes, and Guest, I would also like to add, that is not only my own personal view and written on my own. This is a view held by the vast majority of the core members of our group.

These sort of things will help you draw a few forumers to watch your team and help boost the crowds not the way another individual was going about it.

Great work... The hand of friendship (or in this case, olive branch ;)) needs to be extended both ways.
I have had great times at Olympic matches before and it was sad to see a minority of people really trying hard to further alienate football fans from the local football community.
I sincerely wish your group the best of luck with your active support ambitions. I stronger football community is what we all want, and I am sure 99% or of Olympic and A-League supporters could sit and chat about football over a beer for hours no hassle, after all, we are all just football tragics.

Far out guys I was waiting so bad for a post like this, it has made my day.
Put it this way, I was extremely embarrassed by previous posts by certain posters no names mentioned, but. I would love for Sydney Olympic to take a more professional outlook on their future and try to put themselves in a position to place themselves in the picture for future second div ( whatever its going to be called ) placement. Please keep it along these lines guys.

Correct, I wrote it with another main member of our group, and got it approved by another couple guys. I posted it here first, then a forum on the ultra-tifo website, then i think your good mate solympic posted it on theworldgame forum.
Why do you ask?

Why do you ask? If releases such as this aren't referenced or don't cite a published source, the thread gets locked. ie. if a story cannot be proven to be authentic, we don't allow it to be run on the forum at all. This is fine though. :) Edited by martyB: 15/5/2010 05:30:16 PM
