Its funny how these dicks are saying the Luddenham coach is shit and all that. Do they have any idea that just 3 years ago before he came they always finished last on around 4 points and conceeded over 120 goals per year?

Makes me laugh.

Both Bandit and Loyalist-both check your own spelling before attempting to correct others.Lack of Capital letters at the start of sentences, two instead of THREE full stops at the end of them...Judging by the tone of your posts,I tend to think that you're the same person.Unless, wait a second, you're Mr Montgomery's dietician and suggested liposuction didn't work;now you feel guilty and you're both working in adjoining cubicles trying to fix each others staplers and calculators...Landmines?We've left plenty of them in your pathetic clubhouse in last few years each time we've beaten Luddenham away...I'll let your unshaven woman eating those disgusting sausages and drinking that rough plum vodka clean up streets of formerly peaceful-turn violent and dirty states of former Yugoslavia(to everyone else you're all the same).

And Loyalist-don't be angry and sad that you'll never be a good coach. Gain some knowledge sister (preferably in football, not to be confused with footy), win some trophies before you even attempt to bag anyone whose mantel piece is full of them. Your rude comments and interviews only show the extend of your small dick/big belly syndrome. But then again, you're only as good as the level you're coaching at. Which is 5th division in mighty Australia!!!
If I've dropped out of school, then at least I've started it. Obviously you must have been too full from having triple pancakes to even make it to primary education. Can you spell O B E S I T Y ???
If I'm home schooled, then you've finished your education at the moment, when your mummy showed you where the fridge is... Aren't you tired of inspecting your private parts with a mirror and magnifing glass???
If I'm herding goats, then stop eating them!!!
As I've said before, we'll visit you in few weeks time and we'll see how good you and your girls are.
Remeber cupcake, you already got smashed by us 6:3 this season...

State League Two Round 21 Preview
19.07.11 11:51

Round 21 of NSW State League division two sees Luddenham United and Prospect United meet for a mouth-watering clash at William Lawson Reserve on Saturday evening (5pm kick-off).
Luddenham are top of the table and Prospect third, and this promises to be a clash of the titans after Luddenham nipped Prospect 1-0 earlier in the season to end their seven match unbeaten start to the year. On the upside for the home side, after Prospect this weekend, Luddenham play their last five remaining games against teams in the bottom half of the table. But a win to Prospect here and the it throws the minor premiership race wide open again.

Can Northbridge continue their second round surge when they face an in-form Springwood United at Summerhayes Park on Saturday night (7pm)? Northbridge have won six in a row since the second half of the season started, including knocking over top-three sides Luddenham and Prospect and scoring a carnivale 19 goals to sit equal-third on the ladder. But they face a Springwood outfit enjoying their football and gaining results at the same time (scoring 10 goals in three straight victories), despite being a long shot of making the post-season action. Northbridge beat United 3-1 in April and have only lost one match since (over 12 matches).

Two great rivals Belmore Hercules and Hurstville City Minotaurs engage in battle at Punchbowl Oval on Sunday afternoon (3pm kick-off). It’s now or never for The General’s troops (who also play Hawkesbury in a catch-game on Tuesday night), who have not given up on a top-five position despite losing three of their last four games. Belmore have incentive too. Last-placed Gazy’s recent rise has meant the wooden spoon recipient is definitely undecided, and Hercules will need to pick up points to avoid the dreaded kitchen utensil. The Minotaurs beat Hercules 3-0 in May and went on to win six of seven games to bounce back into finals contention.

Finals hopefuls Fairfield Wanderers and Chopin Park Rams lock horns at Chopin Park on Sunday afternoon (3pm) in a match that surely impacts on their top-five credentials. Both clubs share sixth place, three points behind Roosters (and Roosters have a couple of catch-ups up their sleeve) and simply can’t afford to drop any more points on the run home to September. The Rams have lost their last two and face three top-five sides in their last five games to add extra emphasis on gaining maximum points against Wanderers, who beat them 1-0 earlier in the year (ironically, Fairfield have managed just three more wins from their next 11 outings).

Hawkesbury City play Hakoah at Hensley Athletic Field on Sunday afternoon (3pm) in another last throw of the dice for the men from Sydney’s lush north-western fringe. Hawkesbury have earned just one point from their last five games to virtually ruin a pretty decent start to the year. Had their home form been better they probably wouldn’t need a win this weekend so badly, but their terrific away record (second best in the league behind Luddenham) has kept them in with a chance. In fact, away teams have won almost as many times as the home side this season (53-51, with 29 draws) to show that Hakoah’s run of five straight wins will be tested.

What a moment for Roosters and Gazy Lansvale to come together at Cherrybrook Park this Sunday afternoon (3pm). Roosters are in a great position in fifth place with one result pending and a couple of catch-up games still to play, which could land them a top-three berth by season end. But they tackle Gazy at a time when the proud club is rising from the ashes following a dreadful start to 2011. Lansvale knocked off Wanderers 2-1 last weekend, a week after almost toppling league leaders Luddenham (1-1), and they’d love to make it three results in a row (all against last year’s finalists) to lift off the bottom of the table for the first time since round six. Besides, there’s also a matter of their 8-0 round-eight capitulation to Roosters to take care of (Roosters have scored 21 goals to win their last four against Gazy, who have countered with four goals). To add extra spice, it was at this stage last year that a wounded Lansvale won five straight to dent the finals hopes of several clubs. Watch this space.

Bathurst ’75 take on Nepean at Alec Lamberton Field on Sunday afternoon (4pm) in what could be the greatest clash in no-man’s land since World War I. With finals hopes dashed and the wooden spoon a long way behind them both, Bathurst and Nepean meet in a no-pressure affair that has pride and honour as just rewards. But this will be far from a no-purpose fixture. Both sides have improved substantially in the second half of the year and will want to build on their momentum in preparation for 2012, so this should be an entertaining encounter for fans. Nepean nipped Bathurst 1-0 at the same field in April to record their first State League win.

There are also a couple of postponed matches to be played this week, with Hawkesbury City hosting Hurstville City Minotaurs at Benson Lane Field on Tuesday night (7.15pm kick-off), and Prospect United taking on Nepean at Cook Park, St Marys, on Wednesday night (8.30pm).

State League Two Round 22 Preview
26.07.11 12:32

Round 22 of NSW State League division two starts with Gazy Lansvale versus Hawkesbury City at Bensons Lane Field on Saturday evening (5pm kick-off).
Despite a rise in form and renewed confidence Gazy remain fixed at the bottom of the table, but they have shed their “easy-beats” tag to build some real purpose about avoiding the wooden spoon.

They beat Hawkesbury in a 4-3 epic at Bensons Lane Field last year but this time face a City side fighting for their finals lives. Hawkesbury were terrific in a 5-4 win over Hurstville and 2-1 loss to big guns Prospect last week and will look to build a late run to the playoffs.

Last-chance Hurstville City Minotaurs face Bathurst ’75 at Alec Lamberton Field on Saturday evening (5pm), and throw a double dice to work out what this scoreline will be. Hurstville were amazing in a second half turnaround against Hawkesbury, trailing 5-1 at halftime to almost recover before falling 5-4. The surge in confidence could be what The General’s men need to restore some pride in the Minotaurs season. But Bathurst have been tres magnificent since the signings of a couple of French players and walloped Nepean 4-0 last week, Gerard Ouffoue netting six goals in the past two weeks – sec le blood!

It doesn’t get any bigger than Prospect United versus Fairfield Wanderers at Knight Park on Sunday afternoon (3pm kick-off). Third-placed Prospect have been steady in their approach to September and can maintain their presence at the top of the leaderboard with a good showing against Wanderers, who moved right back into finals contention with a 3-0 shutout of Chopin Park last week. United beat Fairfield 1-0 in June but then lost four of their next five matches to drop down the ladder. The last four meetings between these sides have gone to the home team but with so much at stake this one could go either way.

Itching Springwood United and Luddenham United clash at Luddenham Oval on Sunday afternoon (3pm). Springwood have a, well, spring in their step as they prepare to engage giants Luddenham, winning their last three games on the back of some entertaining football to be the league’s fourth best travelling team this year (and a big boost to the respect they must now receive away from their mountain lair). But Luddenham are the second best home side (behind Hakoah) and have a good run home to the finals to not have to panic about this encounter, and they’ve already beaten Springwood 3-2 at Summerhayes earlier in the year.

Hakoah and Belmore Hercules clash at Blick Oval on Sunday afternoon (3pm) and little could be read into a 2-2 draw (the last three games have finished level) between the two sides earlier in the season. For one Belmore have had eight draws this year and Hakoah went on to win nine of their next 12 games, but the fact the former NSL champs have now won six straight to snatch the competition lead by one point over Luddenham at this stage in the season and you’d have to be loose in the purse to not back Hakoah this weekend. Hakoah’s next three games are against the bottom clubs before meeting newcomers Chopin Park and Northbridge.

It’s difficult knowing what to read into Chopin Park Rams versus Roosters at Hills Sports High on Sunday afternoon (3pm). The Rams are still in the post-season race in spite of losing their last three games, but are they there to steal a miraculous playoff berth or there to ruin the hopes of others? Many eyes are on Roosters, who have a grip on fifth place with a couple of catch-up games up their sleeves. If those matches go well it’s see you later nine division two teams, and if they show whammies then Roosters have extended a finals lifeline to five other clubs. Chopin Park won their round eight encounter 1-0, this will be just as tight.

Nepean meet high-flyers Northbridge at Northbridge Oval on Sunday afternoon (3.30pm kick-off) and free-flowing football looks set to be served on the menu. Both coaches are keen on structure and movement, and a big reason why their earlier meeting finished 3-3 at Cook Park. But this game is north of Parramatta River, where Northbridge have only lost one of nine games and scored more than double their western Sydney counterparts. The fact there’s no pressure on Nepean while fourth-placed Northbridge have so much to play for only fuels the fire this weekend.

There will also be a couple of catch-up games played this week that will have distinct bearings on the finals chances of several clubs. Outside shots Springwood United tackle Chopin Park Rams in a do-or-die battle at Summerhayes Park on Tuesday night (7pm kick-off), while top-five combatants Northbridge and Roosters face-off at Northbridge Oval on Thursday night (7pm kick-off). Both these games will go a long way to deciding the fate of this year’s State League Two finals make-up.

Hey Loyalist, aka SUPER COACH with Scottish experience! Where the f#ck are you? It's so boring and quiet without your presence here. OOOPS, I've just had a look at weekend's results and table! CHOKED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just when you thought you're doing so fine, being invincible with big mouth (matching your overall frame), trying to teach everyone else. Guess what - your shitty month is not getting any better! We're so fired up to whip your fat ass soon!!!
By the way: your research into meaning of Koutas was incomplete my Teddy Bear. On the island of Corfu (no, stop drooling - it's not a name of a dish), KOUTAS means "the one who roots fat chicks". Irony was directed at you sweetheart. See you in a couple of weeks!!!!!!!!!

State League Two Round 23 Review
07.08.11 20:20

While round 23 wins to top-four sides Hakoah, Northbridge, Prospect and Luddenham kept up their battle for the premiership, it’s like watching the road disappear behind those teams fighting for their finals lives as Roosters maintained their strong grip on fifth place with solid goal difference and a couple of catch-up games still to play.
The rest can only hope someone sticks something in the Roosters spokes.

Hakoah beat Gazy 4-1, Northbridge disposed of Hurstville 2-1, Prospect pipped Roosters 2-1 and Luddenham downed Nepean 3-0 to keep status quo at the top of the leaderboard, while Roosters beat Wanderers 3-1 midweek to put themselves in a strong position coming into the home stretch. But a 1-1 draw between Wanderers and Springwood didn’t help either side as Hawkesbury overtook them both following their 2-0 win over Chopin Park. In the other game Belmore beat Bathurst 2-1 to go with its 2-2 midweek draw with Gazy.

Incredibly, despite all the winter rain there are only five more catch-up games to fit in, including two crunch matches this week (Prospect versus Luddenham and Springwood against Northbridge). At this stage it looks as though Roosters will have to play five games of football in the last two weeks of the season.

There was movement on the goalscorers chart with a Neil Jablonski triple for Hakoah taking him to a nifty 21 goals for the season, two ahead of Northbridge star Ry Hardy. Hardy’s team-mate Elliot King (14 goals) also scored to move into outright third spot, followed by Paul Cooper (Hawkesbury) and Gustavo Orcajo (Prospect), while Hurstville hitman Haissan Morhi (12), Luddenham ace Huso Merdanovic (11), Roosters duo Ercan Topal (11) and Adem Taslak (10), and Springwood assassins Bryan Campbell (10) and Peter Henderson (10) round out the top-10.

Prospect pluck Roosters

Prospect United crafted a solid 2-1 victory over finals hopefuls Roosters at William Lawson Reserve on Saturday evening to maintain their top-three spot and prove they have the armour to stave off the big guns. Roosters became the third team to crack 50 goals this year following their 3-1 win over Wanderers midweek and they scored first against Prospect, right on halftime.

United returned fire straight after the break, Paul Curjak beating a defender before letting rip across the square to tie it all up again, and the game ebbed and flowed until Luke Isbister played a nice one-two, danced his way around a couple of defenders and unleashed from an acute angle 14 yards out to score the match winner.

Prospect’s fifth win over Roosters in six meetings pleased coach Tony Caruso. “It was a very hard-fought game. Roosters definitely played to their strengths and we had to be on our game to combat that. They had a few chances and played well, never gave up and always looked for a scratch,” he said. “It’s good our defence is working well, but we do have our luck sometimes… I’ll just leave it at that.”

Roosters coach Musti Akca only returned from a two-month overseas commitment on Sunday and said he was pleased with how the club had gone in his absence (just two losses). “It was a bit hard at times to keep in touch with what was happening back here but I think it’s quite good where we’re at actually,” he said. “Having the [four-point] buffer behind us means we can focus on moving up the ladder. Teams that win 4-5 in a row are the ones that are at the top and that’s what we’re aiming to do.”

Wanderers, Springwood draw

A 1-1 draw at Summerhayes Park on Saturday night doesn’t really help the campaign cause of either Fairfield Wanderers or Springwood United. The stalemate extended United’s unbeaten run to five games and helped stabalise Wanderers after their disappointing 3-1 midweek loss to Roosters (Fairfield have now won once in seven games), but shared points means neither will take advantage of Prospect’s win over Roosters and stay an agonising four points behind fifth place.

It was another typically tight contest between two entertaining sides, Jordan Juarez opening the scoring for Wanderers on 26 minutes with a great run at goal and the visitors held their slender lead to halftime. Both sides had chances to score in the second half but Springwood’s cause was helped when a Fairfield player was sent off for dissent midway through the term and not long after Peter Henderson scored his 10th of a great year from a 65th minute goalmouth scramble to force a 1-1 draw at fulltime.

Wanderers coach Leo Maturana would have preferred a better weekly return than a 3-1 loss to Roosters and 1-1 draw with Springwood. “We were in the match all the way through and both teams had quite a few half-chances,” he said. “We just have to keep going in getting points and see what happens at the end of the day. We’ve thrown a few younger players into the mix and they’ve done very well. We’re still playing good football.”

Luddenham down Nepean

Luddenham United returned to form with a steady 3-0 win against Nepean at Cook Park, St Marys, on Saturday night. Pasquale Corso put the home side ahead on the half-hour mark before second half goals to Ivan Bazina and Angelo Martino sealed an emphatic three-goal victory. It was the seventh time Nepean had been held scoreless this year, only Gazy (8) has a worse scoring record.

Luddenham coach had mixed emotions following the game. “We played very well, upped the tempo and took control of the game early… and that’s something we’ve lacked a bit in the past couple of weeks,” he said. “We’ve been far from our best, but all the right signs are there.”

Montgomery said the win was only soured by a serious hamstring injury to star player Huso Merdanovic and a reoccurrence of Angelo Martino’s knee injury, with doubts hanging over the pair for the rest of the season. The United coach was worried it would leave his side undermanned for upcoming games against Prospect and Hurstville, but he preferred to be in his shoes than Hakoah counterpart Mark Robertson.

“There’s no pressure on us, we’re not coming first anymore. All the pressure is really on Hakoah because they’re the ones with the big name coaches and star players, so they have to do well. I’d prefer to be in my position with no pressure than have to carry that sort of burden to perform.”

Hakoah defeat Gazy

Hakoah made it eight straight wins with a convincing 4-1 victory over Gazy Lansvale at Hensley Athletic Field on Sunday afternoon, maintaining their three-point cushion over Northbridge and Prospect. An Ado Smajovic goal for Gazy was straddled by two Neil Jablonski penalties (both for handball inside the area) to make it 2-1 at halftime.

Hakoah turned up the heat in the second term, big Joe Vrkic bounding up from sweeper to meet a floating Rani Rimmer corner with a crisp volley to extend the lead to 3-1 in the 67th minute before Jablonski completed his hat-trick and a 4-1 scoreline with a well-timed header five minutes out from fulltime. Jablonski’s triple strike takes him to the top of the goalscorers chart with an impressive 21 goals, two ahead of nearest rival Northbridge ace Ry Hardy.

Hakoah coach Mark Robertson gave plenty of credit to the Gazy team simply for turning up each week. “It’s not easy to get motivated on a Sunday afternoon when there’s not much to play for, so good on the players for sticking it out,” he said. “It was a comfortable win but it’s still very close up the top. It’s the closest competition I’ve ever been involved with and I’m quite happy just to be involved in it. We can only concentrate on what we want to do and let the rest look after itself.”

Northbridge ditch Hurstville

Northbridge kept doing what it’s been doing since the second round commenced and chalked up win number nine in a row with a come-from-behind 2-1 win over Hurstville City Minotaurs at Punchbowl Oval on Sunday afternoon. Northbridge are on a massive roll but it was Hurstville who struck first on the tight Punchbowl pitch, Kyriacos Phylactou scoring 10 minutes before the interval only to be outdone by a slick Northbridge movement that resulted in a Daniel Hillege equaliser two minutes later.

The game was there for both sides at 1-1 in the second half, Elliot King missing a golden opportunity for Northbridge before meeting a Ry Hardy cross with authority at the far post moments later, his well placed left-foot strike whipping across the Minotaurs keeper and into the back of the net for a 1-0 lead on the hour-mark. Hurstville pressed by Northbridge held their nerve for a 2-1 win.

Northbridge coach Joe Haywood was glad to collect maximum points in a scrappy game. “We weren’t at the races for the first half-hour, mainly because we had two players unavailable and had to make a couple of changes, but we just didn’t get going until late in the half,” he said. “But the boys really focused in the second half and came out firing and showed they really wanted it.”

“We’re definitely going for it [the minor premiership]; we want to be the top team at the end of the season. The board is really happy with us, and we’re moving in the right direction, so there’s no reason why we shouldn’t be aiming for the top.”

Hawkesbury over Chopin Park

Hawkesbury City made it back-to-back wins for the first time this year with a 2-0 defeat of Chopin Park Rams at Chopin Park on Sunday afternoon. The visitors got away to a brilliant start when Hakan Celik put Michael McCrory through and the Rams keeper could only push the ball eventually into the path of McCrory who slotted in the opener on 14 minutes.

Chopin Park might’ve restored parity in the second half but could only look on in horror as a deft chip over the Hawkesbury keeper caught a late gust of wind and bounced off the crossbar. Hawkesbury then sealed victory 10 minutes from fulltime when Ed George flicked to Prash Sharma, who went on a waltz around three defenders before burying his chance into the onion bag to make it 2-0.

City coach Gary Lewis knows his team’s finals hopes is a faint whisper on a distant wind, but he just hopes his players continue to play well. “It’s a big ask for us, Roosters have too many games in hand to fall over, so we just have to keep going and try to make life difficult for teams at the top,” he said.

Belmore beat Bathurst

Belmore Hercules got up for its first win on home turf this year with a 2-1 victory over Bathurst ’75 at Blick Oval on Sunday afternoon. Following a scoreless first half Jarrod Portegies put Bathurst in front just after the restart only to see a George Illiopoulos shot cancel it out with an equaliser for Belmore just past the hour-mark.

With the game seemingly headed for another stalemate (Hercules have already endured nine of the league’s 31 draws this year) some bloke named A Aravena stepped up to make it 2-1 to Belmore in the dying minutes, the first win for Hercules since round one, more than five long months ago.

Now that they have broken away to a five-point lead over bottom-placed Gazy, Belmore might actually entertain thoughts of gaining two more ladder positions at the expense of Nepean and Bathurst. It would be something to aim for after a challenging 2011.
